I got through the game in 26 hours, 65% complete, 91% of the world explored. I imagine I need to go through a different play style to get the rest of that percentage complete, cause I actively went in search of all the side quests I could.

The only thing I 'skipped' was the dialog, had subtitles on and was much quicker for me to just read it then wait for someone to finish saying something. This led to some problems of longer scenes getting skipped when I thought hitting escape would get me to the next line of dialog and instead it jumped through all the dialog to when I get to respond, or skipped an action scene.

Took me 107 hours to finish, doing as many side-quests as possible (other than the rogue quests in Denerim, as my toon was a wannabe-paragon dwarf). Got 95% areas explored and the 75% side-quests achievement. Imo you rushed it. ;)

You know, even if it did only take 20 hours to complete that's 8 to 10 hours longer than it took me to beat Fable the first time and that cost me 10 more than I paid for DA:O.

Just saying.

At any rate, I clocked in at 58 hours on my first playthrough.

Most of you guys seem to understand it, but, in all seriousness OP, why do you think any of this content should be free?

Perhaps its because I already work at a company that creates these kinds of products and know how the economy of producing them work, but I'm quite curious to find out what the people who say these things are thinking. Unless, of course they do understand but just want to bother people with their controversial comments whether they mean anything to them or not, but that's what a troll is and I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah right, and I finished NG2 on master ninja while playing with my feets.
You didnt finish the game on Nightmare on your first playthrough, and if you did, as I said when I finished DMC4 on DMD mode with 100 levels of bloody palace I did ith while playing with my feets, check the achievement I have done it, however, the feet thing I cant prove, but im saying it over internet so ofc its true.

anyway, back to topic, I finished the game in 38 hours while skipping dialoge, and many side-quest so I doubt you finished it in 20 hours.

nightmare is very possible with healing potions. Plz sir, why do you think this game is so successful... you have easy, normal, hard, nightmare as options on your first playthrough.

Check the hardcore mods...

The 2nd playthrough on nightmare people are either:
1. No mages allowed in party.
2. No lyrium or healing potions.

I dont believe in that, NG2 for ex had people for over a month trying to finish the game on hard, there it had a leaderboard with updates on progress per account, even the best player who finished it on Master a few weeks later got stuck.
The thing is, people always do better things when nobody can check it out.

We are btw talking about the first playthrough.
And no cheating.

I'm 100% sure i'm not the only one who beat it on nightmare. The reason being there are many people who also claim on the forum they did so. The truth is, any unwinable situation can be won with healing potions no matter how dangerous the opponent is. Even a reverant at level 8... as so commonly discussed.

Yeah, for some reason the forum has tons of progamers, yet they dissapear when its MP or leaderboards checking stuff out.

Weird?

I was ranked 12 in halo wars, for over 2 months, listening however to people on fourms bragging on how their tactics worked, I should have been ranked below the 400k.

people talk big on the web, but its often isnt the truth.

Just as the guy who started this topic, 20 hours? your kidding me, I did a speed run on easy skipping all dialoge, to get the last achievement and did so in 20+ something.

How the f, do you manage to finish DAO in 20 hours... the first time that is.

I believe it boils down to 2 possible answers:

Either:

A) They fail to understand business and economics.

or

B) It is a strange sense of entitlement that permeates gamer culture. Especially "Elitists".

I personally believe BioWare went way above the current gaming standard length (8-12 hours) with a game that has HUGE replay value. Bring on the DLC in all shapes and sizes (no horse armour tho...). Expansion packs, mini-missions, new companions, whatever.

I can't speak for others, but in this specific case I think it is obvious that the OP primary motivation is just bragging. He just delivered it in a complaint package for some obscure reason.

Because I really don't think anyone is stupid enough to skip content voluntarily then complain about... lack of content... [.]

I really love this game and I love Bioware but enough of the "Do side-quests or you didn't beat the game". Thats a load of BS. I am a firm believer that a single player RPG should be based and rated on it's MAIN STORY QUEST. Not the amount of useless side-quests you can do. And yeah this guy probably did mash ESC but it doesn't matter how much side quests you do they don't matter in the big picture.

Anyone here go walkies after the end of the game, in some place near the Mage's tower.

I managed to walk underground and float in the air !!

But the map is closed off apart from Shale's village (cant remember name) and Soldiers Peak.

The message said enjoy, whats to enjoy apart from going from Peak to village, ad nauseum??

The side-quests are always there only IF you want to do them. BioWare dont force them down you throat at gun point. I personally love the side-quests as they provide xp, loot and backstory for the world.

68 hours on first play through and I rushed in a few parts. On my second play through I'm taking my time and mixing different equipment. I like how there are healthy dialogue options to keep the second time through fresh.

I ignored every sidequest, and skipped through all dialogue, and it still took me a whopping 20 hours to beat the game.

Fixed that for you.
