ME3 has NO replay value... Due to ending.

which is kind of dissapointing to me since I only got 3 different endings.

yes, the endings do kind of suck.

My friend and I were talking about it. We both usually breeze through the game on "normal" then provide a challenge by beating it at the highest difficulty.
Let me stress again, I am one of the idiots that enjoyed the ending. Having said that, no, there is zero point for me to play 1 through 3 again.

I'm also interested to see how things change when I play through with a save where everyone DIDN'T live.
I've considered that, but then I just cant get past the notion that a loss of a few characters just culminates in either the characters not being there to say their lines or Shepherd nut-shelling them into a momentary sppech about "I'm doing it for all those casualties along the way."

The game itself was awesome, as good as the others, but those retarded endings sap all my will to play.
In due time im sure ill give em another go, but I honestly get sick just looking at the game cases now.

Mass Effect is dead for 80%+ fanbase. Polls prove it.

but this is true.
if you wanna see the value of replaying the game play 1-2-3 but stop right before you head off to the Citadel over Earth.
because the ending will just ****** you off....
The key thing that pissed me off was the relays being destroyed. everyone you knew, cared and loved are now stuck left to live the rest of their lives on Earth or on the lost-planet.
Tali will never get to see her home again, even after achieving peace with the Geth.
Neither will Garrus, Liara, or Wrex.
Javik will never be able to finish out his last wish.
seriously just puts a massive amount of crap on the end for me.
Call it delusion, but that is not how i end the series in my mind. i'm interested in seeing what they'll do for DLC.
but my guess is that it'll be all in the middle of the story preparing for the Reapers.
though i would absolutely love a fourth optional ending.
don't tell me there are 16 different endings, there are really just 3. 3.5 if you could last gasp scene.
and whats weird is i was ok with the ending in Battlestar Galacitca because there was always hints that something supernatural would occur, you were prepared for the bittersweet ending.
Mass Effect just pulls the carpet from under you at the last 10 minutes.

If I wanted to play a game where you put every effort and it still turns out ****, I'd play Real Life, oh wait.... Thanks BW for reminding of how everything sucks and here I was hoping for a good ending, to make my life feel just slightly better. Goddamn immersion and epic fail of an ending = ruined mood and makes me feel like crap.

Which is why if and when I do replay ME3 I'm just going to stop right before the end. I don't think I can bear to sit through the end like that again.
I've never been this investing in a game series in my life... and to have it end like THIS? It's just heart breaking and leaves me feel empty and burned out.

Still, is it the destination or the journey that matters?
If you like the latter, bam, there's your replay value.
I'd also recommend importing a character with completely different choices from the previous games, the wife had an almost entirely different game - same events, but they play out differently.

If you could Martyr yourself, if you could lose to the reapers by having no readiness, if you could go out in a blaze of glory, and if you could have a happy ending?
If there were even those few endings I'd already be on my third playthrough to see them all.
As it is, I'm just sitting here depressed.

But Mass Effect is the story series of our time. The story of the first two was driven. The third one, I thought, had perhaps the best story moments. Ever. In any game I've ever played. And then they give me this ending? It's like BioWare has been planning for years just to disappoint us in some grand scheme to increase depression rates. I'm confused.

That's beside the point. Let's see.
I have never once been disappointed in a Bioware game until the ending of Dragon Age 2. (Trust me, mentioning this other game has a point.) It wasn't a HUGE disappointment, let's not get off on the wrong track here. It just seemed very strange compared to the first games ending (even with the DLC).
I am not disappointed with DA2's ending anymore.
I'm sure many people have already mentioned EVERYTHING I'm about to go through here. I'm sorry if they have, but this is my experience, so I'm gonna write about it because I'm that pissed off.
1. So... can someone tell me what the point of romancing anyone is? You don't get a happy life with them, you don't even get any sort of life with them. You get two (tasteful, I will give them that) sex scenes - well, only if you went with a human. Alien sex scenes are way too weird, am I right?
2. All of these choices are ridiculously stupid. You say the paragon option is controlling them (which... the Illusive Man wanted to do, and let me be clear that it was his sillouette shown in the little info flashback when the... KidGodCreatureCatalystBULL**** was describing your choices); the renegade is destroying synethic life (which I sort of understand, I love the geth, but god knows I wanted to get rid of EDI the moment she kept getting in the way of my sniper shots, and, for such an advanced AI she really states the obvious a lot, doesn't she?). And Synthesis? What does Synthesis (which I assume is some kind of ultra-Paragon move) do? Absolutely nothing. You say there's a melding of DNA... no there isn't. I see no perfect life forms here like you seemed to think there'd be. There's some humans, there's some synthetics, there's some pretty foliage. It's just another ****ty way for Shepard to die.
Except this death, you get to ****ing swan dive into it. YAY. Oh, and the mass relays are destroyed meaning everyone that came to earth with you - all those aliens that really really want to get back home? - nope. **** you. You never get to see your homeworlds or families again. Deal with it.
3. I was expecting something way better than deus ex machina here, guys. Bioware, you guys have done really great so far. I really applaud you for all the great games you've made. The endings to DA:O, DA:A, DA2, ME1 and 2... they've been great. So HOW could you go to the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR OF lol that kid you've been dreaming about is this God Catalyst thing that we've had NO mention of so far in any shape, form or fashion. It makes NO SENSE.
4. And the Stargazer and Kid thing is stupid. It just is. Who the **** are they? Why do I care? And why do you give us romance options if THEY AREN'T EVEN GOING TO MATTER IN THE LONG RUN?

And it's all over, too. The fact that 1, 2 and most of 3 were leading up to those last ten minutes utterly diffused the impact of the whole thing.

Note this comes from someone that figures they've spent more than 800 hours playing ME1 & 2. It's really funny because I spent more time on the DEMO than the real game itself ..

1. Mordin and curing the genophage. Singing his play as everything is burning around him.... the krogans looking up in wonder at the shroud. Tears, man. Spilling.
2. Seeing Tali again(ME2 LI), combined with the hilarious dialogue during the dreadnaught mission if you bring your ME1 LI along (Liara for me).
3. All the cutscenes with Tali from landing on Rannoch onward. High-quality writing at its best.
4. Miranda's storyline was surprisingly well-integrated.
5. Liara's despair over Thessia, and seeing her rage for the first time at Javik.
6. Right before the end, Liara's final dialogue where she does the eternity thing and you two just stand there, literally embracing eternity. Especially poignant since I had chosen Tali over her.
7. Final Tali cutscene: "I want more time..."
8. Anderson's death scene. Tore me up, especially having read the books.
Not to mention that I decided as I was playing that my final playthrough would be with a Liara LI instead, making me wonder all the wonderful scenes I was missing.
But I don't want to go through that ending again, so no, no replay for me. Even though before the ending it was by far the best game I'd ever played. Not logical, but I don't feel logical atm.
