All this talk about the endings being horrible (haven't finished yet, and haven't spoiled myself too much, in regards to the ending. Though I did read enough to make me worried) makes me think I should just get close to the end, and quit playing until I hear word about Bioware's response to all of this. I'm just starting to enjoy the game a lot (after finishing Tunchanka) and feeling good about my character. Don't want to have that ruined by a crappy ending.

If they decide to patch it, I might just play multiplayer until it comes out. If not... well, I'm sure Gamestop wouldn't mind me returning my CE to them.

Ok I hate the ending as much as the next guy, possibly more...but saying that they do not care about gamers is pushing it. They wrote a terrible ending, most likely do to rushing a product out the door...but that doesnt mean they did this just to ****** us off.

I think they just ran out of time and resources and this is what we got. Honestly stop hiring these over priced voice actors and focus on quality story...I would go back to the plain text of Jaheira and Minsc in an instant if it got me that kind of quality story again.

I've seen endings where they ran out of resources. Sure they're bad. Sure a lot of them leave me scratching my head and disapointed. But up intil now none of them punched me in the gut like ME3 did.

Look at Kotor 2. The game had a bad and rushed ending, but it wasn't a punch to the gut. You get to learn what happens to your party members after they leave. Sure it's not clear how they got off the planet, but you aren't left completely in the dark.

I wish I could go back and not have played the game after the return to Earth.

I'd be able to replay the earlier good parts and the multiplayer and actually enjoy myself.

Doubtful there just going to defend the endings like the DA2 team defend that piece of junk they made.

I had total faith in bioware until I played dragon age 2.

I had total faith in bioware when people said the endings were bad. I thought people were just trolling. No way would bioware mess that up so epicly. No way would they intentionally make it so I could not be with the characters I have grown to care for. NO WAY would they build up a romance story arc fo 3 games. over 100 hours per character. Only to just rip it all away from us with an ending I cannot stop.

There is just simply no way they would do it.

But they did.

Everyone keeps saying they wish they never even seen the ending.  I am stuck at the final mission. I refuse to play it. I've seen the endings on youtube but I can't bare looking at them with my shepard in them. I don't know if I will even be able to look at the screen.

My question is why the Hell would anyone want to pay for DLC that doesn't add new end content? I was really thinking about buying From Ashes, but now that I know that it can't change anything and has no real significance in the grand scheme of the universe, I said screw it.

I don't feel cheated or anything. I got an incredible game experience that just happens to have an unfortunately vague and disappointing ending, where I don't get to find out what happens to any of the characters that I've grown to care about.

There's really a lesson to all of this... invest over four years of your life into a franchise with an incredibly rich history of lore and science, a world that is fun and interesting to explore and learn about, and then have it all marginalized with a faux-artistic "deep for deep's sake" ending that destroys everything that makes that world so great. Life just kind of sucks that way.

I love Bioware and Bioware games.

That being said, I don't know what they were doing with the endings for this. I don't think this is unnecessary tantrums from the fans -- I think it's a legitimate concern with how they've decided to end Shepard's war on the Reapers. The Citadel gives off a blast that either severs all technological advancement, or kills Shepard while allowing Reaper control. (and perhaps there's endings I'm not aware of)

WTF Bioware? Shepard dies no matter what, and we never find out what happens to the rest of the squad?
That's a major middle finger to the fanbase. I feel like I wasted time on the other games. I expected something to happen with Shepard. Not just this... The ending isn't even bittersweet. It's just... It blows!

If games were to end with the main character dying, I'm okay with that. Look at DA:O. That was fitting.
But this isn't. I feel like I'm going to return my CE...

Anyway, there's my two cents. Rip apart my opinion if you want. I'm probably not going to check on this anyhow. I'm too busy nerd-raging.

If we want them to listen we have to:

#1: Be professional with our complaints.
#2: Organize
#3: Prove we aren't a minority.

Oh, I'm sure they are taking it seriously. This is the crown jewel of Bioware's history. It's probably one of (if not the most) ambitious and commercially successful games they've ever made.

To top it off, the core group of gamers they cater to, their biggest fans, unequivocally HATE the ending of the game. For many of them it's probably near 10 years of work for the mass effect franchise, and their fans hate them for how it ended.

I would not want to be in that office today.

My faith in Bioware has almost shattered completely. The only reason it hasn't is that they can still alter the ending. If they just try to justify it well, saying I'll be disappointed is a massive understatement.

They aren't going to do anything. It's over. It can never be erased. This is how Mass Effect ended. We're all just going to have to get over it.

They wont.

Let's face it: They moved 4 million copies in the first week alone. You think they care about 20,000 people? They don't. Omega DLC will be a huge seller as will any co-op maps. They will not release better endings.

I'm worried now. After so much heat from their "loyal" fanbase.. Even if they did make a new ending.. They would be pouring so much hate and disappointment into it. Would we still wanna play that "new" ending?

No, they didn't.  They shipped 3.5 million copies.  Not shipped to customers who had already bought the game, shipped total, including everything sitting on shelves in every retail store selling the game around the world.

And "Save our Show" campaigns with fewer active participants than we are seeing in some polls have managed to get network executives to renew already cancelled shows for half a season or even a full season.  That costs a hell of a lot more than giving us 10-15 minutes more content.  Hell, I can think of at least one cancelled TV show that created a 10-15 minute finale that they put up for free on the web, just because they understood that they owed it to their fans to provide closure.
