HUGE Multiplayer bug

I have spent 7-8 hours playing multiplayer the last few days, but yet I am still only level 4 and have 45xx coins.

What happens is whenever I am partway through a mission, or am about to finish it, I will disconnect and lose all the experience and coins earned. This is very frustrating, and needs to be fixed.

So far I have only been able to finish 2 or 3 missions to the end without disconnecting.

The expeience and coins earned up to where you lose connection need to be awarded.

:(.

Read this post! It explains my problem even more indepth and in a nicer way than I did. ^_^

Thought I'd give my own experience here in detail.

I connect to the EA servers fine, I have little if any lag or other issues as a host or simply as a member of a game. Without fail, I disconnect after approx 20 minutes in nearly every multiplayer game. It has pretty much ruined the game for me as it's nearly impossible to get any cash. I have an N7 rating of 22 despite having played for many, many hours, and in that time I've probably made 30k credits combined.

Now, I've seen this issue discussed on the EA forums and here, and the advice (if any response is given at all) is nearly uniformly terrible, so just to be clear:

1. I am not disconnecting from the internet, I have a wired DSL connection, I have no lag, when I see the 'communicating' icon in the corner, I immediately check. I have had no connection issues, I can tab into origin and use the web browser quite fine, so it isn't even a disconnect with Origin. I have played The Old Republic for hours at a time without the slightest hint of lag or disconnect.

2. I have tried the incredibly obvious solutions such as 'reinstalling Origin' etc

3. I am 99.99% sure this is a time issue. It always happens after a set amount of time in game, I can't find any reason to think I would have a connection issue EVERY TIME at the same moment, so it clearly seems to come from Origin, or the EA servers.

So, I'm pretty much at my wits end. I've bought essentially every Bioware game to ever be released, and never had any serious issues like this, but as great as the multiplayer is it's essentially unplayable. If I play with my friends we can clear Bronze in time before I drop, but in public games or silver and gold I'm inevitably doomed to losing all of the credits, and the XP if I can't reconnect in time.

I realize this issue seems to be effecting a relatively small number of players, and thus is probably not a high priority, but simply hearing that it was being looked into, or being given a solution that might possibly help, rather than getting insulting advice like "make sure you have an active internet connection" (and yes, this seems to be the most common suggestion from any support person) would mean a lot.

UPDATE - Page 4 a few posts from the very bottom
NOTE: This is not a catch-all solution. It has worked for a few people, so I feel it is worth mentioning.. Basically you want to disable to UPnP service on your computer and see if it fixes it. If you're lucky it might.. otherwise you will be stuck with me in dc land.

Masserfasser wrote...

You go to your start menu and type in the search box, services.msc and press enter. A list of services should come up. Scroll down this list and find UPnP from it. Next, either double-click or right click on it and choose properties.

From the drop-down menu there, choose disable and then click ok. I'm not sure if it does, but if it asks you to restart your computer after this, do that, and then give the MP a go.

This happened to me once yesterday as well, but now I can't even join a match without it crashing during the loading screen. I can access the lobby and character equipment and power menus just fine. As soon as it starts the match, crash to desktop.

this occurred in the demo as well and since its still not fixed I guess you are just unlucky and they simply try to ignore you :P

I am level 55 and I lost all my unlocked weapons/race cards! some of the people also used micro transactions and they simply lost their money!

This is actually a very annoying bug in the game, so I agree with the OP - Reaching wave 11 and then getting disconnected (sometimes with the EA server actually kicking you out!) and losing everything you had attained is really annoying. I believe cumulative rewards should be applied in the case of a DC.

Yes, I am glad I am not the only one that has been annoyed with this. :). And... that really sucks for people losing their micro-transaction purchases. I hope they can get them refunded.

We may need to present a solution to BioWare.
I believe they have left the EXP and coins non-commutative to punish quitters.
If it were to be enabled, is there some other punishment befitting a quitter?
Perhaps quitters shouldn't be punished?
Disconnecting is similar to Quitting. If the menu option to quit led to a punishment, but disconnect does not, then a quitter would just unplug their Ethernet cable, or turn off wifi to quit.
I myself found myself in a state where I was not a helpful player as none of my powers, attacks, bullets damaged an enemy, and they were ignoring me. The most I could do was push them out of cover, or revive a fallen player. I could also be revived.
I would have quit to exit the bug... but I had accumulated a level up or 2, and over 5000 credits, if I quit, they would have been gone. If I stayed, I would have held the team back as they only had 3 players.

Yeah, there's some very heavy glitches. If it wasn't for the fact that it's the finale of a trilogy, I wouldn't have been so quick to buy the game.

I think it's a glitch that I have not received ANY races to unlock. They should have made those a priority over weapons and items. I got a couple race cards, but they were for Human Male for two classes I don't play. But I think those glitched because I checked one of them and it looks like it didn't unlock any new customization options for that one.

I think the only solution is to give us our earned exp and coins when disconnected.

Actually... I would be fine just getting the coins and not the exp. I just want my coins so I can buy packs and unlock more customization options.

There are two problems here. One is that you don't get your partial rewards when you DC. The other is that you DC constantly. I also have both of these. From my other thread,

This happens in singleplayer, where it doesn't really matter, because it`s just Galaxy at War that`s affected. It happens to me in multiplayer too, probably two out of three games. It was also an issue for me in the demo. Similarly, I've had difficulties with frequent disconnects from EA servers when playing Battlefield 3, and even darkspore. I don't have this issue with ventrilo. With Skype. With Steam, or Steam voice chat. I don't have this issue with Diablo 3 beta, with Starcraft, with WoW, with TF2, or L4D2. I disconnect constantly from all things EA, and stay connected just fine to every single other thing known to man.

I've been to Origin support forums during the ME3 demo, and they gave me a laundery list of general 'fixes' to connectivity problems. Tried all of them, to no discernible effect. One of their posters had me give him my email to keep track of me, and he told me he would let me know if and when their investigations yielded anything more. I haven't been contacted by anyone.

This issue kills any possibility of enjoying the multiplayer for me.

Please help.

Also, the one-time armor, weapon and ammo bonuses are gone if you disconnect. They should be removed from the inventory only after 5 or more waves were completed. It's unfair to lose them if you get disconnected early. On the other hand, waiting till mission completion would encourage cheaters to disconnect and keep the XP, credits and the bonus.

They get more rewards if they stay for the entire match though, so that is why I think exp and credits should still be rewarded after a dc. But I disagree that the consumable items should be forgiven for all levels. Maybe only if we disconnect before receiving any coin rewards. (So like the first three waves)
