I'm trying to do the mission Kallini: Ardat-Yakshi Monastery and when I try to go down the second ladder, the video glitchs out and Shepard freezes in mid air, I can hear the ladder noises but nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to reload a earlier save?

I have the same issue.
EDIT: I tried to climb down the ladder several times in a row, and it eventually worked. Just keep trying, and see if that helps.

That was the same place I started having trouble with going down ladders, now it seems to be a permanent feature. I'm currently stuck on a roof on Eden Prime and have been repeatedly trying to go down for at least 10 minutes now - yes I am obsessive.

I temporarily adjusted the graphics settings lower and was able to go down a ladder. Then I changed it back to how I like it.

When this happened to me (both during the Ardat-Yakshi & Geth Dreadnaught missions) I found I could exit the top of the ladder where I was able to quick save & reload, (only once was more than one reload required to solve the problem). I did try to climb down the ladders multiple times as suggested by a previous poster, but ended up giving up and reloading from my quicksave (so no gameplay was lost).

The best I've been able to do is hold the camera at a very specific angle, almost pointed completely down, but not all the way down. And if I don't get it right on the first time then I have to reload from a save before trying the ladder.

I looked all the way up and hit the ladder. went down it no problems. Hope it works for others.

After the bridge goes up, I climb up one ladder and well, glitch on the second!
The animation starts and then freezes.
And if to taunt me further, I've seen both EDI and Javik use it just fine!
Edit: tried looking up, sideways, down, all of it!
Nothing worked!

Reporting in with the problem in Leviathan. Will try tomorrow with that camara position thing. Who knows, I might get lucky and actually be allowed to progress! ^^

Same prob with the same ladder in Leviathan. Hrm. Tried quicksaving/loading, camera angles, restarting the whole mission...nothing's worked.

I've been having this problem in a number of different places, although Leviathan's the first time it still didn't work for me after the first couple tries. Looking down did work - eventually. Unfortunately my angle or opportunity, so to speak, is only a few degrees wide. If I looked even an inch too far up, down, or to either side, it wouldn't work. Shooting the ladder works sometimes because it got me aiming in roughly the right direction. It doesn't work always though. For example, you can't snipe the ladder from across the rooftop.

I have the ladder issue on the second one in the asari coloney, and in laviathan after the bridge. In the asari coloney if you carry the vindicator, it will let me down about one out of ten tries. NOTHING works in laviathan, and it's insulting. I paid a lot of money for this game. Preorder. STILL nothing has been done about these ladder issues. Bioware, you need to isolate the problem and patch it.
