The spirit of Son Goku communicates with Shepard via King Kai, and he teaches Shepard the Kamehameha, Kaio Ken, Fusion Dance, and how to turn Super Saiyan!

Then as Harbinger fires a beam at Shepard, Shepard does the fusion dance with the PROTHEAN (DLC only!), goes ape**** SUPER SAIYAN 4, then fires a Kamehameha at Harbinger, and a bitter beam struggle ensues! Shepard is losing at first, but pushes it to the limit with a KAIO KEN TIMES FIFTY, and kills Harbinger! Then this happens:

game ends with shep passing out(he/she dies unless you have stupidly high war assets or hard to get depending on your choices) after anderson dies with the crucible destroying the reapers (but not the mass relays)

que scene with the normandy crashed on earth and joker and the crew talking about the events of the game happened if shepard survives (which should be hard to get IMO) your crew finds out from search teams scouring the citidel and fade to black with a DAO style card epilogue detailing the aftermath and what happens to every race and party member (ME2 ones included)

oh andinstead of fighting some random destroyer it should have been harby

In the end the reaper threat is wiped out because Shepard is a special snow flake and he lives happily ever after with his gay love interest on the citadel.

I was expecting another "kill the reaper from within" moment in this game. I really was.

As the bodies are being taken off the street, my Shepard stops the medics from taking one of reapers from the streets and fishes out a cigar and then waves the medics on. Shepard lights up and the camera zooms all the way out to show the Earth on fire.

It was hopeless, Shepard realized.

All that planning, all that fighting, and all of that mining had been for nothing. The Reapers had won. She didn’t know where the rest of the squad was, they had been dragged off by the husks to someplace horrible. The combined ships of every fleet in the galaxy: turians, hanar, geth, volus, quarians, and humanity were raining down upon earth; leaving vast craters on the surface.

All was lost.

But then, Shepard heard it. She heard a voice.

Look at this..

Could it be? Could it truly be him?

Saving Earth by my lonesome, heavy risk…

It was!

But the prize!

Jacob Taylor left a blazing trail as he entered Earth’s atmosphere, smashing through Reapers just as Sovereign had smashed through the Citadel fleet years ago. Their indestructible armor, as it turned out, could not withstand the direct power of the Good Stuff. The Reapers unused to such displays of power began freaking out. Their cold, emotionless logic based minds unable to handle something so illogically awesome.

So they exploded. Every single one of them, except for one: Harbinger.

Harbinger. Clad in his indestructible Reaper King armor, composed of a thousand different screaming corpses each from a species that came from a cycle before. Clasped in each of his tentacles was a sword, a sword created from the blood and tears of the species that were not good enough to have ascended to Reaperhood. Harbinger was prepared for battle; a battle that would be so epic that it would shake the galaxy to its core, there would be no assuming control. Not this time.

Harbinger was going to direct this ass whupping personally.

But Jacob was bored. Bored of the Reapers, especially of Harbinger whose attempts at being badass had grown rather tiring. So Jacob did the only thing he could do when faced with such a poser.

Jacob destroyed Harbinger with pure apathy.

Jacob, having singlehandedly saved the galaxy slowly descended to Earth and animals, plants, and people came back to life as his divine presence, and within a matter of minutes, Earth was restored to its former glory.

The battle was over. Earth was saved, and the galaxy was saved from the oppressive cycle the Reapers had forced unto a galaxy for a countless number of years. That was the prize. Freedom.

The entire idea of the fusion dance make me LOLED.

I liked the synthesys ending, maybe if I got the chance to change it, I would alter the last part by changing the crucible in some machine like the one on Fringe series... Shepard joins to the crucible, fusion all synthetics and organics and then goes to some nice beach on the pacific with Liara to create all those blue children.

After anderson dies, shepard passes out.

The crucible fires, killing the reapers...but also the mass relays, and seemingly the citadel.

Normandy crash lands on earth, crew steps out.

Shepards body is in rubble, but he breathes.  Only shown if you maxxed out readiness.

Or if the kid DOES have to be in there.

Shepard talks to the kid.  He tells it how its theory is wrong and stupid and dumb and why are you even in the game.  I allied the quarians and geth, I gave EDI freedom, so you can go to hell with your false assumptions.

Kid understands....then the crucible fires, killing the reapers, destroying the relays.

Hell, even writing that out made me feel better.

I would like to point out that this short span of time needs to encompass 40 episodic DLCs.
*Goku and Freeza begin fighting* "You have five minutes until Planet Namek is destroyed, Earthling."
-20 episodes later-
"Three minutes left until Planet Namek explodes."

The Crucible fires, deactivating all reapers but leaving the relays intact. Screen fades to black.

Slowly, Shepard consciousness.

He's in the med bay of the Normandy, having been rescued from the Citadel. He looks up and sees all the familiar faces of his friends and comrades looking down on him. He thanks everyone for being there for him. Shepard looks over at Tali and takes her by the hand, he stands up with great difficulty and pulls her close and whispers to her.

"Lets get you home"

Shepard asks Joker to take the Normandy to Rannoch, he and Tali had a house to build. The wounds Shepard sustained were too severe, and ensured he would never be able to return to being a soldier. At first he is disappointed, Tali is able to convince him that he has earned some rest.

The scene ends with Tali and Shepard watching the sun set on Rannoch

ORIGINAL THREAD DO NOT STEAL.

Also, I believe my idea for the ending (the first reply here) is the best one EVER.

As the Catalyst makes his assumptions, Shepard makes a paragade interrupt, and explains how this cycle can work together. The Catalyst stops for a second, and thinks on this. He gives you another option, that because Shepard has proven the cycle is not needed, he will destroy the reapers. But, the cost of this will be the mass relays. Shepard agrees to this, as the galaxy will stand together and recover from this. The Crucible activates, a bright white light shines frome the Citadel, as Shepard raises the comm to warn the fleet away. As the light expands, Reapers caught in it are destroyed and explode, some of the allied ships can be seen getting caught in the blasts. The Destiny Ascension itself is hit by a blast, and in turn is destroyed. The Normandy, which had picked up the surviving crew members and friends of Shepard is being chased by Harbinger, who has decided his last act will be to spite Shepard as his own fleet crumbles. As the Normandy reaches FTL speeds traveling out from the Sol system, the light hits Harbinger, whose own blast wave hits the Normandy just as it enters FTL, rocketing the ship forward, where it crashes into a nearby uninhabited garden world.

We see the light hit the Mass Relay, and the view of the galaxy with them all being destroyed.

Back on Earth, we see Human, Asari, Salarian, Turian, Krogan, Geth, Quarian, and even Batarian soldiers cheering as the reapers groundside explode. We see the burning buildings and scorcjed earth of the planet as it slowly pans out from the battlefield past the burning wreckage of the ships, to the Citadel. The massive station has begun to tear itself apart, and as Shepard falls to the ground, he lets out a sigh of relief, an old soldier who has earned his rest. He slowly closes his eyes, and we see Anderson stir, crawl over, and call for Shepard. He checks Shepards pulse, then activates the comm calling for pick up.

We see Admiral Hackett aboard a shuttle heading into the Citadel, he lands on the platform near Anderson, And they both haul Shepard up, taking him to the shuttle. It all fades to black. The obviously cliche "one year later" shows on the screen, and fades into a human ship closing on a planet. As a shuttle descends to the surface, the wreckage of the Normandy is seen, and smoke rises from deeper in the forest. As the shuttle door opens, out steps Shepard, the scars are evident on him, a limp in his step. He and two marines make their way down a trail leading to the smoke.

As they step into a clearing, they see multiple makeshift shacks that look as if they were salvaged from Normandy. Shepard calls out and a door opens, then another, and another. Out comes Garrus, Tali, James, Liara, Joker, EDI, Javik and Ashley along with regular crew members. Shepard limps slowly to Ashley, a look of pure shock on his face. Ashley slowly raises the bundle shes carrying, and Shepard sees his child. The two embrace, kiss, and the camera slowly pans out again, out past the planet to reveal a fleet of ships slowly continuing by. Carried by huge dreadnoughts, we see new mass relays. Drumming music commences and slowly winds down to crash on the signature "Mass Effect" displayed with the planet in the background.

Everything happens like the actual ending until the Crucible is activated. When that happens, the Crucible suddenly goes through some kind of FTL warp, and Shepard is raised up through light to the top of the Crucible, just like in the actual ending.

Tension builds as he rises through the light and you wonder what he's going to see. When he arrives at the top, he sees the bulk of the Reapers in the distance, millions and millions of them forming a huge line--the Crucible has warped Shepard to the dark space between galaxies where the Reapers dwell, using the Citadel as the Catalyst to reverse the mass relay that allows travel from that dark space to the Citadel (as we saw in ME1).

Instead of a god-kid, the Keepers emerge from within the Citadel and approach Shepard. They explain that they are the last messengers of an ancient race who were bound to maintain the Citadel until it could realize its full potential as a Catalyst. Millions of years ago, this race was extremely advanced and went beyond the Milky Way, where they encountered an unimaginably powerful race of that swept through entire galaxies consuming whole stars to fuel their need for energy. When the Keepers race discovered that this threat was approaching their home, the Milky Way, they dedicated enormous amounts of resources to advancing and mechanizing their civilization to ultimately fight off the invaders, and became Reapers by doing so.

The Reapers (the evolutionary pinnacle of the organic Keepers) then took their place outside of the Milky Way, fighting off the intergalactic menace that threatened to consume every star in the galaxy as fuel. For millions of years, this war has waged on, but the Keepers alone did not have the numbers as Reapers to counteract their aggressors. Periodically, they decided that large fleets of their armada would break off from the main Reaper collective to scour the galaxy for intelligent life, streamline it as Reapers, and then return to the Dark Space with their newly bolstered forces to continue the war effort. Using the Citadel as a mass relay facilitated this process, and some of the last remaining Organic keepers were used to watch over it while their synthetic counterparts continued fighting.

Shepard stares off, away from the crucible, and sees the massive lines of millions of Reapers--some taking on various shapes of the many races they have consumed--holding the line, firing with everything they have all they onto what seems to just be a wall of light, which easily counterattacks and massacres many of them.

The Keepers explain to Shepard that he has a choice, and just like in the real ending, two paths to different escape pods appear before him. On one platform is a pod containing a console that will allow the Crucible to transmit a self-destruct signal to every Reaper in existence. The Keepers original deduction when designing the Crucible was that any race powerful enough to overcome the Reapers and re-active the Catalyst could potentially do a better job at holding the line than they could, and the Reapers had ceased to be the evolutionary pinnacle of the Milky Way. Shepard can pick this option if he believes that they galaxy can handle this new responsibility without the help of the Reapers, returning to Earth in the pod to warn everyone of the coming intergalactic foe.

On the other platform is a pod that Shepard can step into in order to be taken to Reaper frontlines, harvested, and used as the founding benchmark of a new human reaper. Stepping into the pod will also forfeit the Crucible to the Reapers, and allow them to return back into the galaxy with it using it to complete their harvest.

If you choose to destroy the Reapers, all of the Reapers around the galaxy and on the frontlines of the war suddenly deactivate and detonate shortly afterwards. Everyone begins to rejoice, but Shepard returns to tell them that they have inherited the post of the Reapers and that there's still fighting left to do. The combined fleets of the galaxy move from fighting the Reapers to the dark space outside of the milky way that the Reapers once occupied, becoming their successors in defending the galaxy. Post-credits, you get something similar to the game's actual epilogue ending, with a man explaining the legend of Commander Shepard to a child.

If you choose to save the Reapers, the Crucible returns to Earth and uses its power combined with the Reapers to absolutely decimate it, along with the rest of the galaxy. After a moment of woe, the scene shifts back to the Reaper frontlines, where new Human, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Krogan, etc. Reapers are preparing to join the fight. Post-credits, you get a new civilization on a planet fighting off a Reaper that proclaims "We are your salvation through destruction. We are Shepard."

tl;dr: Keepers were the ancient organic life forms that the original Reapers were made out of (I always thought they looked oddly similar), Reapers are fighting off a greater intergalactic threat, you can choose to fight that threat without their help or become Reapers and join them.
