Which romance got the worst treatment in ME3? *SPOILERS*

like we've become accustomed to in BioWare games. Not even being able
to see her face-to-face at the end of the game was especially bad,
considering the scenes you got with Liara, Garrus etc.
I mean, I didn't even get to hear I Was Lost Without You (the romance theme) while Jack was on-screen, which is probably the most gorgeous composition in the game.
Compared
to Liara (and probably Kaidan/Ashley, though I've yet to play with them
romanced), it just seems like they really dropped the ball on a few of
the romances. I can't even imagine what people who romanced Thane are
going through right now.

At least Thane's situation was telegraphed pretty clearly in ME2.

As I don't even consider Jacob a real romance anymore, Thane probably takes the spot. You get one conversation with him, there's very little about his final scene that changes if you romanced him, and no one mentions him after. He's completely forgotten about. Death is fine, but the lack of any grieving or follow-up is more than a little disappointing.

Oh wow, that happens with Jacob even if you've romanced him? I figured it was something that only happened if you didn't. Now I feel even worse for the fans of him out there, even though it was pretty inevitable.CheeseEnchilada wrote...
Jacob gets the worst treatment by far. Cheating on Shepard and having a baby with another woman? Who actually thought this would be a good idea? Or did they just decide to end the relationship, figuring his fanbase was so small that there would be little outrage? You know they'd never get away with it if it was Tali/Garrus/Liara they did this to.

I'm quite surprised Thane didn't get a better treatment, since he seems quite popular with everyone.

Garrus/Tali got the next level of detail.
All the remainders kinda got the scraps.

It felt pretty bad having a pretty subpar holo-call with my LI, only to get a great scene with Liara right after. Such is life.GothamLord wrote...
It did seem like the Liara or Ashely/Kaidan romances got the meat of the attention.

Jacob. there is no competition. Thane comes close, with unavoidable death and all, but at least he doesn't dump you for some doctor he knocked up.
Miranda and Jack actually possibly got it best, considering the endings, becasue they are the only 2 LI's Shepard has a real chance reuniting with.

BTW, no hate for VS, Liara OR the new guys.....actually loved all of them and am glad that they at least got (sorta) a bittersweet ending. Ok, we'll just say a "larger and more fullfilling" romance arc. Yeah, that's what we'll say.

Wheras Jacob's treatment in this game is by for the worst of any character, romance or no. His own fanbase(admittedly small in comparison to some) can't reconcile his actions. If that isn't an indicator that you've done something wrong with a character, I don't know what is.

I've only seen Liara and Ashley's scenes so far, which were both well done IMO. Though I find it odd how Ash had underwear on, but Liara seems immune to the "everyone wears underpants in Bioware sex scenes" rule.
I was personally happy to see Liara in the buff again, it's good to see Bioware going back to the tasteful mass effect 1 approach instead of the Dragon age 1/2 Lame model.

I'm really glad to see so many people agreeing that Jacob got the worst treatment. I'd really loved both his character and his romance in ME2, but now I don't even know if I want to bother putting that Shepard through ME3.
Don't. Seriously. Either kill him off in the SM, or don't romance him at all. Or both. But there is no reason to subject yourself or your Shepard to the trashy way the writers treated his romance in ME3.

2. Thane
Jacob's was dumb, and Thane's was heart-crushing (and not in a good way). Jacob had a small fan base but... Still. I also find Thane's surprising because I remember hearing about how much work they put into every inch of him, as a new LI for FemShep and a bro for DudeShep. And while Jacob wasn't popular, Thane was popular with both LIs and "friends/bros".
Ultimately, Jacobs was the bottom line worst, but Thanes was the worst in proportion to his popularity and significance, AND second worst for the bottom line.
Frankly, FemShep got it bad in LI department, at least for ME3. /Maybe/ Kaidan, Jacob and Thane 'Mances are poor. Sam is nowhere near as "interactive/dialogue'd" as Cortez. Garrus only if ME2, but not too bad. The obvious redeemer is BWs favorite child;
To clarify, I don't begrudge DudeShep romances. Just wish BW had done better for /both/.
