Some bioware employee leaked the upcoming dlc's.

We are going to get omega, some appearances, weapons, some dopey romance dlc and something with Shepherd exploring alien ruins.

The endings right now are final.

That "leak" was from the bastion of Internet truthiness that is 4chan, take it for what you will.

I for one, will reserve my judgement.

Slightly amused, it will be funny to see all you humans frantically replaying Mass Effect 3 once Bioware releases the additional DLCs that will increase your readiness rating to a level that provides the ending everyone desires. Proudly, humans can learn so much from our disposition and patience.

Readiness levels are pretty much a non-issue, since you can effectively double your level by engaging in lots of multi-player.  Anything that relies on Readiness to remain hidden merely risks pissing off all of the players who don't want to engage in multi-player.

Quick rebutal, players will still engage in multiplayer regardless of their feelings towards it if it means they get the ending they want.

I'll gladly pay them $50 just to get a fully furnished DLC ending, rather than this deus ex crap.

The funny thing is that the Deus Ex ending is actually better than the ME3 ending.  It at least ended with some sort of closure that brought out some of Jenson's motivations behind his choice and hinted at a better future.  Mass Effect 3 doesn't.  There is absolutely no closure at all. That is why most people are left with this really awkward moment devoid of feeling at the very end of the game.  This emptiness turns to rage when we discover we have been cheated out of our emotional capital.

On the most fundimental level, the ending breaks the reader-writer contract.  It's not only bad writing, it's just plain bad storytelling.

If they are truly listening...

well here are my thoughts about why I think the endings tried something great and profound but fail in their attempt:

Funny thing is the only thread locked in the past few day was mine about a list of DLC from 4chan.
Usually there is nothing true there but sometimes not.

Back to the thread title: They're listening. That could possibly be. Fact is, the ending will not change. DLC will without a doubt be released, how well it does or does not do will probably be what speaks most to them.

I would have liked to have seen a different ending, but I'm not holding my breath for a patch or DLC new ending. Quests, gear and side stories will probably be all we'll see. Not trying to be negative, just realistic.

I don't think any game, ever, has changed it's storyline because of the fans. Most that's probably been done is if it didn't do well, and we know ME3 did well in numbers, they'd not attempt another or change the next installment.

Fallout 3 did just that. Until Broken Steel there was no way to survive last mission.

It's not liek they dont have the original ending written anyway. It woudl be consistent to thave that. Then remove the whole normandy wtf and destroying the relays = much better ending imo.

As much as I hope there will be, there simply will not be an ending DLC. At least not until sales start tanking and even them still not a strong possibility. Simply because of pride. Nobody likes to admit mistakes and when you have people thinking they're God's gift to video game producers it doesn't get easier to admit you miscalculated. They will simply tell themselves "the fans don't get our creative genius" and leave it at that.

In reality the ending was forced to set the stage for the coming MMORPG. If you had "wildly different endings" as promised they would have to think of some other means to shoehorn everyone into the same starting point and judging by what they went with, they came up blank.

This whole "if you knew what we had planned you'd keep your copy" is nothing but a desperate plea for people to not sell back their ME3 games because that would raised used inventory and cannabilize new sales. Don't be fooled twice.

****SPOILERS included****

I just finished the game today, made my reply to one of the polls with regards to the crap endings. This puts new light to the whole situation.

I just hope they will come out with something awesome, to really conclude the whole story!

Atleast this made me believe:).

Thanx for sharing the info!

P.S. The way the game ends and sets u back to a point before attack on Illusive Man's base, which means you still can finish the game differently makes it clear they have something to add to the game. Just more DLC content, which ppl can buy, but wont be forced to if they dont. I guess everyone will be able to choose an ending that suits him.

Seriously, everything until the last ten minutes of the game just hit it out of the park.  It's like eating the best dinner of your life, only to find out the chef licked all the plates and forks before you used them.  It didn't ruin the meal but that's all you can think about.

What they'll probably do is release the next DLC, but bundle in the ending, so that they get to charge for it but so we don't feel completely cheated.

That's a terrible analogy. A more apt analogy would be eating the best dinner of your life, only to find out that the "meal" was made from your butchered family, and that you are only being fed so that you can fatten up and be butchered and fed to the next victim of the twist cook.

Also, the cook looks like a 8 year old child.

How do you know they wont change it? We are living in a new world with new possibilities. Bioware can change the ending. Just because it has never happened before does not mean that will be the case this time.
