Halo 3 ending was great. The best in the series so far. However, from what I hear the ME3 endings will be better. I don't know this for sure though, as I have only read spoilers.

I have seen it youtube and I am dissapointed.. I have been sad :(the whole day. it saddens me to see such a potencial series end in a manner that leaves future installments impossible to do. I will not spoil it for you but when you see the ending brace yourself......:crying:

If Bioware wants to get away with selling a "good ending" DLC, they NEED to toss in at least another story-based mission and some free MP map packs.

That alone, will be more than enough to satiate a great deal of you guys, yes?

Change "free MP Map Packs" to "Free multiple side missions" or something and I would say yes. The hell with MP.

Aaaaaand here comes the $10 DLC for the "real" ending.

Sad part is....I'll buy it...

I'd just watch it on youtube. I'm not paying a single cent more to them since the "real" ending should have been included anyway.

Same here. I'm not paying them for new cutscenes that should have been there in the first place. A full expansion or DLC pack that ADDS those cutscenes on top of everything else, then we'll see. As it stands though, I'll never give them my money for something they should have done to begin with.

Or to be more accurate:

"We decided to go in a new art style and direction, not everyone is going to like it, but a lot of people do".

But what kind of "new direction" places a premium on a vague and unsatisfying ending to a series that's been years in the making? I don't think ME3's ending can be justified that way. If it was simply a new direction then it wouldn't be generating near-universal confusion and anger.

That's merely what BioWare's retort was, in quotes.

Yeah. I just can't believe they're trying to justify it like that. <_<

I should've made it clearer that I was replying to the Bioware quote and not to you.

I take it that means there will be story DLC. I was wondering if they were going to make some. No new endings though. While I have no problem with them, I actually like the endings, seeing Bioware cave and change their story just because of a few comments would really make me lose a little respect for them. Not a lot, but a little.

A few comments? You kidding right? The ending was so bad that ME3 has 0 replay value. Stop acting like its a few ppl. This is huge issue in the game. If I had the box version of the game I sell it instantly, I'm pretty a majority would have no probelm selling it back or trading it in.

Look at polls.

A majority, a very vocal minority does not make.

Almost every other gaming site is expressing the same sentiments from the community, agree or understand the endings or not, you can't deny that without being ignorant.

Agreeing to disagree. I like them, and I stand by my post. If Bioware changes their endings or adds to them, I will lose a little respect for them. A little.

The way I see it.

Either we'll play as Shepard in the rubbles of the Citadel as hinted in the Shepard_Alive movie, trying to get back to civilisation with the remains of the organic creatures....(?)

Or we'll get to go through some sort of Virtual Citadel program for the Control ending...

Or maybe we'll find out that since all the begining of ME2 we were playing as some sort of Clone as hinted by Shepard and the true one remains somewhere lol.

I'm not buying anything from EA or Bioware until they fix the ME3 ending. And if they're going to fix it, they need to tell us. Now.

If you don't like the ending vote with your wallets, that's my opinion.

The only way that they can fix this is to completely negate the final battle not just the last 5 mins of dialog. One of the core problems with the way that they ended things is that the importance of building your fleet and uniting the galaxy is lost. The pace of the story masks this but the more time you are giving to think about what the game actually was in the end the more dissatisfying it becomes.

They aren't going to fix the game unless they have DLC that completely re-writes the ending from the start of re-taking earth on. And put in a system like how ME2 ended where you have to assign task and carry out a strike plan. The decisions that you made shape what you are capable of accomplishing. It wont happen - they wont do that.

We are going to get a side story with more info about reaper origins or something like at which point I will pass. Even though I bought all the other addons. This ending killed the franchise.  I will laugh so hard if its multiplayer based deathmatch.

Hell i don't need any of this, the way the reapers were beaten wasn't really that bad, i had no problem with the catalyst or anything. I HAD a problem with my shepard being dead or stranded with no way of ever reaching her crew.

I would at this point pay $10 for a scene where after the Normany crash lands we fast forward like a year and see Liara with a little blue baby and my Shepard comes out and puts her arms around Liara. Makes no sense! I don't know how it happened! But i don't care! I want to feel an emotion towards these endings besides despair and hate...

It falls flat for me because the weight of your decision and how strongly you unite the galaxy really has no impact on the final outcome.  He did the impossible and united the galaxy yet its meaningless.

In fact the entire thing last battle seems counter productive.  Because for the most part that whole convoy you take is useless.  Not a single one of them makes it through or helps in any way.  They would have been better off sending infiltration teams and hoping that shepard could sneak his way in without bringing the entire reaper armada down on him.  Which would have also saved the lives of almost everyone since the fleet wouldnt need to buy hours against the reaper fleet.

A button that says no actually i just want you to shut down the reapers would also leave me disatisfied.  Its not about shepards survival its about the impact that he has on the galaxy.  No matter what you are pushing the button of someone elses design.

Wait Halo 3's ending was bad?!

Wait Halo had a plot?!

Image IPB  Yes, it had a plot. A very cleshayed plot, but a plot. It told it's story well for an FPS.  Image IPB

The music was nice.

ANYWAYS, here's to hoping that Bioware doesn't go ripping us with "good ending" DLCs with our demands. Hopefully, they can find a perfect solution to this.

Although I still think sticking to their guns is their option for now.

People need to cool down a little bit.

I already know them. And future installments are not impossible. They still have FTL flight, and they can rebuild the relays if they want to. Not to mention they call pull a Star Wars and place the major events years and years apart.

yeah. If it were ever "planned" that you couldn't get the best ending in a game without dumping another 160 bucks on DLC I would be finding my torch and pitchfork.

Ill buy an ending DLC, or a DLC that has some kind of epilogue, but if they aren't planning on doing either of those I'll save my pennies and just not assume bioware games actually have a writing staff.. I ducked on Dragon age 2 as I'm a little fed up with fantasy, but if this is what the DA2 people got.. well.. I think ill wait for a new studio to pop up. which is a total shame.

I actually think the Dragon Age 2 ending was better than the ME3 ending.  Yeah, let that soak in for a bit...  I've watched the ending on youtube, and I actually stopped my first playthrough of ME3 until Bioware at the very least, addresses the fan complaints.  In the meantime, I'm going through ME2 again (so I can get Kelly to feed my fish... I want those Prejek paddlefish dang it!!!) in the hopes they'll, at the very least, put in additional endings.  Not only a "unicorns and rainbows" happy ending, but also a "Reapers win" ending if we just completely do the game wrong, thats not a "oh they caught you while scanning" critical mission failure.

You guys need to lay off the whine with the cheese you're eating. Or when you go out for a burger lay off the French cries, or at least don't supersize them.

You know there is an option to just not play...you may want to try that out.

Idea!

Make it that Shepard (whatever ending you pick) does die on the Citadel... which was the connection between that Shepard and the real Shepard that's still trapped somewhere at a Cerberus base somewhere or something.

If you picked the options where you die, Shepard while still stranded will feel happy to know she helped the galaxy even if it wasn't her actual body. While.... you know... forget it. This is getting stupid. Lol.

Yeah I am not playing it. Already had one play through saw the endings. And thought, "****! My 80 bucks. Why I even bother playing ME1 or ME2. 5 ****ing years of waiting and this is how they end it ?"

You realize this is a long shot right? Far from a confirmation that what they're working on is related to the ending?

Agreed... Maybe it's just stupid multiplayer maps for very expensive prices or missions pre-TIM base

And if there's an Alternate Ending DLC... It would be expensive... remember that Biowere must invest money on making the new ending and getting again all the voice crew to remake this part... so you should expect it'd be a very expensive piece of DLC.

I liked the Synthesis ending... I just want a stupid textual epilogue to know wtf happened to the crew members and the galactic fleet.

is that even supposed to be surprising? bioware never stop with the main game. they are always planning for dlcs. the problem is what dlc will it be. probably some guns, armors, some irrelevant squardmates, some side storys etc. and all of these seem pointless with that crappy ending. and if its gonna be a happy ending dlc, I am not sure if its a good move to have people pay just for a proper ending.
