Honestly I amdisappoint. Realism isn't killing Washington after crossing the Delaware.

My headcanon is this:

“Hackett, the reapers are controlled by the citadel. BLOW IT UP! But get me outta here first.”

Que KOTOR Jedi Ending

Roll credits

But since Shepard is too stupid to think of that he/she deserves to die to death from a crucible death ray.

I don't think there is any replay value with the original endings. There is too much of a character investment or rather a personal investment in the character to watch them die....again and again, or just have them forever separated from their friends.

I didn't mind, in fact, I actually liked it. It was nice to get a look inside Shepard's head.

i liked the dream sequences reminded me of deadly premonition

but i wish I ran faster in them <_<

Ugh, that was one of the (many) things I hated about the last part of the game, too. You have to slowly inch around at a snail's pace.

The dream sequences gave me really terrible flashbacks to the spacesuit scenes in KOTOR.

1. Not enough to win, not enough to survive, Reapers kill everyone, cycle repeats.
2. Enough to win, not enough to survive, reaper forces lose, Shepard & co end up dead.
3. Enough to win, enough to survive, Shepard lives, company dead depending on choices made.
4. Enough to win, enough to survive, Shepard lives, company mostly lives.

Fit in the Earth getting nuked somewhere under 2.5 and not getting nuked above 2.5. Boom, ending that fits most of the established lore, and lets us get some closure.

This is what I was expecting to happen.

I sort of can't wait to reach the ending, It's been hyped as so bad that I can't imagine it will be bad as it's been hyped up as.

Urgh, please tell me I'm not the only one who was peeved about those dream sequences and that child.

I find them quite bearable if I imagine that Shepard is chasing him so he can punch him in his stupid face, and that he reacts in horror when he catches fire because he's thinking "NO! I wanted to kill him! Now I can't because he's spontaniously combusted!"

Then he wakes up confused.

Frankly I'd rather just keep the endings as they are and do a DA:A-esque expansion. Probably a way to pull it off. Probably.

Why didn't this happen? Would have fit right into the sequence of the series. BioWare, we're doing your job for you.

OH YOU, HAHAHA. I was you once. I avoided spoilers like the plague, and was only aware that many people thought the ending "bad." Thinking it couldn't be that horrible, I went in blind.

suffice it to say I regret that decision

Talking about taking Omega back, I think Aria means she will take it back after Shepard defeat the reapers because her three forces are both help Shepard against the reapers. (did anywhere she said she will take Omega back before Shepard defeat the reapers?) so how can they release a dlc like that with a no matter what dead Shepard ending and unkonw crew members? oh, an another dlc with Aria rebuild Shepard in order to help her reclaim Omega....

People are voting with their wallets, and Bioware is going to keep removing RPG elements accordingly.

Even if they do listen it would be a long time before we would get a new ending. You've got to call the voice actors back, get the development team back together, put together some cutscenes. If I were BioWare, it wouldn't be worth it. People already bought the game, who cares?

I hope they surprise me though. I would kill someone for a new ending.

I played without spoilers, so I was excited so much for a great ending. Then when it ended like it did, I came here and started talking about it. Now we've got so many people here saying the same thing and maybe we can all come together and convince them to give us a real and hopefully happy ending.

Heh, I've seen the endings.  I'm a spoilers guy.  I knew about them before most of the boards did.  But I didn't see them for myself, with my Shepards (yes plural.)

I know what they are, I've seen the cut scenes on youtube.  But to me while they do seem underwhelming, they don't seem catostrophic like the BSN is saying they are.

Then again I'm a guy who was told "Watch "The Room" worse movie ever" and said, "Eh, yeah it's horrible but I see what Tommy Wiseau was trying to do.... besides film himself having sex with a moderately attractive woman."

Heck adding to my last statement I can even see what the horrible horrible man that made Birdemic was trying to do. Won't mean I like it, also doesn't mean I'll get all RAGEQUIT like a lot of people on the BSN have been getting.

i still can understand why they kill the Shepard. even just for money, as long as Shepard alive, they can write as many stories as they want, release as many dlc as they planed and fans will buy it (at least i will) but if he dead, it will be much hard to make another story about him because it doesn't matter, he is or will be a dead man. so under my logic, they don't need money any more?

JamesYHT: This is the end of Shepard's story.... not the end of Mass Effect's story. They've been saying that for a year now. They are confident the brand can exist without Commander Shepard.

I will admit, I don't think it can. But we'll see.

I'm a bit jaded as well...just finished the game...it was fantastic up until like the last 15 minutes...but the ending(s) were a major let down. Got all war resources, 100 percent readiness and still...crap ending(s). I was hoping the rumors were wrong but they weren't. And if Bioware thinks a majority of people were pleased with the endings, they're deluded. I know I will not be purchasing any dlc unless it is for sure alternative ending(s).

Unfortunately, I believe they are precisely that. Casey himself has tempted to claim many people liked the Human-reaper and even Planet Scanning, despite the endless backlash both underwent, especially the latter. Others have already posted devs are defending the endings. I have noticed in recent years BioWare has become far less willing to hear criticism, regardless of how respectfully it is presented. Granted, when the "professional" reviews offer nothing but glowing praise. I cannot entirely fault them. The only way BioWare might consider rethinking their ideas is when sales drop.

The human reaper sort of made sense. It was a silly fight, and kind of campy, but at least they had been leading up to it throughout the course of the game, and even if it was brutal it still fit with the rest of the narrative.

Also, I was one of the ones that liked planet scan. But I'm weird, and I know I'm in the minority.

As for criticism... they have heard it, and they often lampshade it in their games. There were, what, three different places where people make snarky remarks about Shepard's inability to dance? And they did get rid of planet scanning for the most part. Combat was more fun, too.

Anyway. They do listen. I just hope they have the ability to listen now - ME's VA team numbered in the hundreds, and it's not cheap to get people back together to do pickups. At least most the design team probably still works there.

If Bioware is seriously considering adding more endings to appease you people then I think you should be grateful regardless of what you get from it.

One thing I never understood about the human reaper, was if they do this all the time, why do all the reapers look the same (or derivations of the same design)?
