This is if you don't have Mass Effect 2 Installed but have the save game files.

• Create a Folder On your Desktop called Mass Effect 2, Open the Folder, Create another Folder Called Save, open that folder,
• Put your savegame folder from Mass Effect 2 in the folder you created, it should say (charactername,your class,0000000)
• Go To  My DOCUMENTS FOLDER (start,documents, MY Documents,Bioware. Put the entire Mass Effect 2 Folder you just created in there, so you should now have Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 folders in the Bioware folder.

( a mistake poeple do is they put the folder in mass effect 3 folder, do not do this as inport needs the mass effect 2 directory.

Launch the game, new game, inport ME2, and it should show up your saves IF YOU FINISHED THE GAME.

Also this was for windows 7 64bit but should be uni for most operating systems other then Mac.
