Dear Bioware team\\community.
I would like to share a few words now that I've finished ME3.
I was a bioware fan for years and played on every RPG they ever made.
Mass Effect series WAS my favorite series of sci-fi\\story\\universe\\video games you name it.
I've played on ME imported to ME2 and Imported to ME3.
Through ME and ME2 we could see a smart system of questing, story and gameplay. The end of ME2 was a very interesting one (Arrival DLC). With all of the hype around ME3 I've expected a long game with many hours of excellent gameplay and story.
Instead,
The game totally sucks.
I'll list my named problems in orderly fashion:
1. Journal, I mean.. wtf... It's not updating as I progress in a quest and then I need to look on every planet because where my target or goal is not mentioned there.
2. Damn small galaxy. on previous games we could travel across many planets and hubs of the galaxy here we had a small version of the citadel and the Normandy.
3. Not enough\\short quests. The main quests were kind of good on their length and such (touchanka is pretty memorable) but all of the side Missions were utter crap.
The N7 one are a joke.. Basically a short version of the multiplayer.. less then 10 minutes.
The Scanning with the reapers on the map? Come on I just exited and re-entered the map to reset their location.
The side missions are really the worst ones... in order to have a side missions I've needed to travel to the citadel and run EVERYWHERE!!! and over hear NPC speaks about something and travel along the galaxy to search for it.
4. Conversation... COME ON, 70% are just non cinematic and most of them are without any choice option at all. most of the convo in the game are just click on the npc and leave him speaking to himself, mission completed.
5. Gameplay. The worst part for me was the updating stores, quests and dialouges basicly in order to enjoy from all of them after ever major mission you need to run all over the citadel and the Normandy for "over-hear" and "Click convo".
6. I can continue this list forever but.. I'll make it short. THE ENDING! WTF.
I've read spoilers on the ending which include super weapon and the citadel on earth but... when I've got there... oh god...
Before I went to the ending I've made sure my paragon run shaperd made every ally possible and collected every possible war assets. Played multi and got my readiness to 89%. My effective military strength was above 6000.
and which end I get?
1. kill everyone and create half machine half organic dna beings - not!
2. kill all non organic include the geth - I'm paragon so not.
3. Take control of the reapers - I've choose this option in a thought that as full paragon everyone will survive including shaperd, instead My shap is dead, Normandy crashed on no where planet and all of the mass relays exploded. then I don't even get an epilogue or something to tell me what happened to the greatest fleet ever or anyone else.
Truly the best part of this game is the multiplayer.
The single player is a huge disappointment and this is the last time I'll buy a bioware game.
Bioware - you need to make amends, repair the broken systems in the game and give us a normal ending!
And as I know the great work you do you'll probably lock this topic and say that there are other topics which speaks on the ending but my topic is about how bad this game is.
better that mass effect 1 was the only one in this series.
Last Bioware Game I'll ever buy

If they do not fix the ending into something more coherent and acceptable, just like what I did to all Maxis, Activision and EA Sports, I won't spend a dime for Bioware.

For me, the game, in and of itself, was rather good. There were more bits that I enjoyed (even some bits I laughed out loud at) than those I didn't, but the ending? Dear God, the ending. I've no issue with an ending where Shepard dies/makes a heroic sacrifice/call it what you will, but 3 of them? With no "Shepard and LI ride off into the sunset" option? That just drained me of all enthusiasm to replay the game with a different Shepard.

I loved the game. It has its faults, but right up through the kai leng fight (whuch was the high point for me) i was ready to peg it as my favorite. Than i went back to earth. Ok, not as good, but u can hack it, its still a great game. Then, i got to the end, and the entire series fell apart for me.

I'm doing the same, regardless of what they do with the ending. Even if they release an alternate ending which I hope they do, I'm done. This is only an example of how bad things are going to get in the future, I know because I've seen it before with other games.

I'll still buy them, the ending was a failure but the rest of the game wasn't a complete mess, it was good until the last mission. But I won't be in rush to buy them, or preorder or buy any more CEs after this. Can't even see myself buying more dlc, even story based one, unless it a dlc that fixes the ending.

I'm not that extreme. I still love their games but I am disappointed.

I'm not going to say that I will never buy another Bioware game.
I can say with absolute certainty, however, that I will NEVER waste money on a pre-order from them again, or even on a new copy at all. Mostly, what Bioware lost is my trust; they have proven without a doubt that I'm nothing but a walking bank account to them, and I will be waiting until any future games are on clearance at gamestop before I buy them.

Making blanket declarations of a group based on the failure or success of one example from said group is poor form. For the investment of time and caring that modern games elicit from us, it is more wise to evaluate each title individually than to judge them all by who produced them.

I agree with the above points here OP. Bioware should be ashamed of themselves. They have the opportunity to rectify much of this with DLC but we should have had a more complete experience like we did in Mass Effect 2. It seems that the game was rushed.

After DA2 and ME3 I'm not buying any more of their games without most players giving it a very good review. DA2 was just over all terrible, I had zero interest in it but like an idiot got caught up in the hype as it came out so got it. ME3 was ok but the endings and some other things about it were so bad it just ruined the entire setting for me and it was my favorite scifi setting.
