If one friend of mine hosts a game I cannot join the multiplayer game. Our two other friends can join. I am joining the game from the Origin "join game" drop down option.
I get stuck at "Joining game..." and Mass Effect 3 just sit there. I have to hit Alt-F4 to close the game. If I host everyone can join. If anyone else hosts I can join.
What gives? We can work around it, but it is annoying.

There are quite a few people with the same problem. You can do quick matches fine and everything else works, but joining specific games is pretty broken right now by the looks of it.

Any word on this bug yet? I'm also experiencing this, except that I can't join ANY games, and no-one can join me. I checked, and don't have any firewalls.

Situation is as follows: I live with a friend A. Her friend B is hosting the game. At first B tries to join A, he's stuck at "joining game". The he tries again, fails. He tries to launch the game via the "join game" button, fails again. Then A tries to join B, she's stuck at "joining game", then she tries again, she finally joins.
Then I try to join the game, I'm stuck at "joining game". Try again - same. Again - same. I try to launch the game via join button - fail. Join while in menu - fail. There is just no way I can join the game.
We had no problems joining someone else's game, only B's. And since A is in the same local network as me and has the same router (we're on the same LAN), and she could join after two tries... No idea why I couldn't. Oh, and I don't have any firewalls and stuff, we have exactly the same network settings. Our router doesn't have any special settings for neither of us.
So, to sum it all up:
- A and I are on the same LAN
- Both me and A have the same network settings and are plugged into the same router
- Router has no specific settings for any of us (no DMZ, virtual servers, port forwarding and stuff)
- B is somewhere else
- B hosts
- A can join B after two tries
- I cannot join B even after 378653845 tries
Questions are - why does it happen? How to make it work? Why does Origin suck so much?
