well yeah it "might" fix the problem but probably wont

noramlly problems are caused by a good connection bugging out due to some outside factor like a routing node going down and your pc getting stuck on a prefixed profile which dead ends at the bad node

running certain scripts like flushing the dns cache can help you to reestabilsh connection in such cases

but when you cant actually establish a connection then your kinda not likely to get any results from it.

if only ea could make origin work i mean its had at least 10 updates and so far all they seem to do is make things worse instead of better (of course it doesnt help that EA just doesnt give a flying **** about pc games

I'll add my voice to the growing population of affected users. I've had this issue for a couple of weeks now, and it has finally gotten to the point where EA's support staff has just told me to call my ISP to get the issue resolved (without actually informing me what I need to tell my ISP once I contact them). Bugger all.

On a slightly related note, this is my first time posting to the forums. I'm sorry that it had to be under these conditions.

I was among those who had issues. Today I no longer have any issues. I upgraded my operating system to Windows 7 and now the game works just fine. It seems far fetched, but maybe the operating system has something to do with the issue.

Please to hear problem is fixed for you. Not pleased to hear how its fixed. Upgrading an OS is a bit drastic for something that used to work fine a month ago.

Doubtful that's the root problem.  I've been running windows 7 for over a year now, and the connectivity problem remains.

Then I guess the issue is how the game installs since I had to reinstall it.

Might as well add my voice to the "can't play our legitimately bought game" club not that I have any faith that EA will do anything about it. I've been trying to play daily for about two weeks without success.

So can't access the server bla bla bla you know the drill -- I'm in Canada btw.

At this point I've just about gave up. I mean I honestly believe there's more chance that a Vorlon spaceship will land on Earth and host an international pinata party for all the children of the earth than EA fixing this mess (or giving a **** about it for that matter).

How odd. I had just loaded up multiplayer and at the character screen it dropped my connection. Now every time I get 'EA servers are unavailable'. Thankfully every other online based game I have still works which means this problem sits solely in ME3's lap. Seems this issue is growing.

Just been getting this problem lately. Have been playing since launch, began to have it a week a go but at that point it was fixable by the old 'update' trick, now even that doesn't work. Sigh.

Dealing with the same issue. Granted, I'm in Afghanistan, but it lets me download games with no problems.

I've been very active the last few weeks with no problems at all. Last night in the middle of a wave I was disconnected. I got this message when logging back on for hours before getting frustrated and giving up. Haven't tried today but I get a feeling nothing will change. All other online games work, etc. As a paying customer, to me, this is unacceptable.

I really hope that everyone is raising this with EA support and adding something to answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-3/Mass-Effect-Server-is-Unavailable-Really/m-p/127594#U127594 So far there are only 15 users have indicated they have this problem I suspect there are more.

Not true. I play/update Blizzard games with zero problems. Tribes also works, abit laggy as hell. Steam has no problems at all. Then again, Activision has a hands off policy with Blizzard, unlike EA and BIoware.

its possible that one of the admins will be able ot answer the problem but i suspect it will be down ot a network setting on the wifi provider, origin requires either port forwarding with NAT or full UPNP connectivity (gateway +pc)

also the gateway must allow personal tunnels to be created (upnp) older games dont use this technology and just require that comunication ports are open, try speaking to the service provider (i take it your in or around bastion) and get them to allow traffic for EA/Origin

tell them its for BF3 there more likely to allow the heartbeat etc connections :)

It seems that EA is at least acknowledging the problem now. Holding my breath...

The fact that they posted the article three days ago and offered absolutely no follow-up information is not promising.

did you try reactivating network discovery and upnp both on your pc and your router ?

its seems rather counter productive but one of the recent origin updates added support for this which meant the old workaround of disabling NAT + upnp on pc/router did more damage than good, since the old workarounds are no longer viable

if your running win7 you need ot ensure upnp is enabled on both pc and router, and ensure NAT is disabled on the router, also ensure there are no port forwarding instructions on the router.

no doubt this is all part of htem gearing up to the anticipatd release of the new gaystation which will fully support upnp for the first time (xbox has supported it since the release of the 360 as part of there pc conectivity app)

you also need ot be useing a wired connection and have 3 entries in the pc firewall to allow full access to the internet, and turn off the widnows power management feature on the internet adapter.

and i think aslo you need ipv6 to be enabled on your adapter (it will probably create a teredo tunnel under a 6>4 rule) because origin needs ipv6 (i cant remember what setting its for though)

Spent all day getting the game re-installed and no dice.
