Tape
My first obstacle was the rectangular piece of super sticky tape that was placed on the side of the box. This was an awful idea. Its way too sticky and it tore small portions of paper off of the box containing all the Collectors Edition swag. It also took some print off the back of the actual CE box istself, which was really disappointing. I ended up having to get a really sharp knife and it really shouldn't be that much effort.
Game Case
All in all it was really cool and good looking. For those of you who don't know its a tin. For some reason they decided to put the bar code/sticker that usually goes on the top or side of a regular game...directly on the tin, in the lower half of the case. Its fine I guess, just sucks because I dont want to get it off and have stupid sticky residue on the tin. Finally on the back where female shepard is, some sort of dust/hair/etc landed right on her FACE before the actual paint was applied to it. So now I have basically a "dust-pube-hair follicle" underneath fem sheps face that I cant remove because all the paint will chip off with it. Very disappointing...
Disc and holders
The discs are way too hard to get out. Unfortuntely they chose the kind of disc release that is really hard to actually press down and when you finally get it out, it barely manages. The discs feel like they are made out of paper. They are really flimsy and now I can't and dont feel safe keeping them in the game case. the discs are very prone to cracking and breaking. I can actually see the lines in the plastic where it would most likely fracture. Terrible quality.
My GF is enjoying the actual campaign so far and I can't wait to jump in once my Soldier is ready to import from ME2.
/end rant
PS. I am never going to put the discs back in to the case ever again, this is truly depressing. My girlfriend just tried to do her first mission on her own in the galaxy map, and you need to put in disc 2 to play!? WOW, just.......wow. Disc 2 was lucky that it didnt crack when I tried to take it out for this purpose. I tried again to remove the disc and its even harder than disc 1. She has worked at Gamestop for 2+ years and she couldn't even get it out without serious concern. I was eventually able to get it out after annoying manipulation of the stupid hard plastic center and an excessive amount of force. Now I have to find a separate case to house the game discs. TERRIBLE, just Turrible Bioware.
