When trying to delay mordin, he figures it out, the game then gives me 4 dialog options. The two on the right are the only ones I can pick, either telling him not to do it or saying I was wrong.
The two on the left are "now isn't the time" and "why", both unavailable. Do either of these options change mordin's fate on a new game without an imported save? I assume 'now isn't the time' saves him but my googling isn't really telling me much because I'm apparently one of the only noobs who didn't import a save (went from PC to ps3).
No imported save, quest "The Shroud" Mordin dialog options question

Anytime you see two options greyed out (on the left hand side of a dialogue wheel) it's because they are considered special choices and usually require a certain level of reputation alongside occasionally requiring certain actions to have taken place earlier in the game.
Hope this clears it up without spoiling too much!

That much I figured, and I'm willing to lose over an hour of progress by going back to an earlier save and doing the shroud when I have more rep. I don't mind spoilers, I need to know if one of those options saves mordin, and it would also be helpful to know how much rep and what other actions light those dialog options up.
thanks.
thanks.

Yes, actually! If you have enough reputation and fit the correct criteria earlier, those grayed out options will become available, and you can save Mordin.

i'm also curious as to the critiera. for me, when i get to the wheel that has "I was wrong. Go ahead." and "I'll stop you if I have to", I don't even see any other option (not even greyed out), but I have heard they exist. What exactly are the conditions for making it possible to talk Mordin into sabotaging the cure with you?
