Yes, this includes the writing staff. They did a good job with most of the story, but their conclusion completely overshadows the good work of others. That's how I know the ending is bad, it ruins an otherwise stellar game.

I'm... not even sure how to react to that. The game was good, but the endings should've brought that down to an 80, at most.

Those of you who are saying that it deserves a high schore because the ending is the only bad part, aren't looking at the game as a whole. You're rating it based on the GOOD parts. The ending is crucial. This is a trilogy-ender. It is the end of everything that we've been building to for the last four years!
The ending ruins everything, and last time I checked, the ending is part of the game.
If a movie has a bad ending, it's a bad movie. If a book has a bad ending, it's a bad book. Why should games be rated any different? Bioware doesn't deserve to have a 95 on Metacritic, when they botched this game so colossally.

It's a dark sci-fi trilogy. Ending was in perfect taste imho...and the rest of the game was amazing. Their 95 was spot on. Flame-on fellow BSNers

because expect for the last 5-10 minutes, ME3 is a fantastic game. Some people choose to remember what the game does right, which is a lot, as opposed to the one thing it got wrong.
indeed, best writing in the mass effect series so far (maybe best for BW?). i have no gripes with the auto-dialogue, since it really helps with the flow of conversations and i've always seen ME as more action than rpg anyway.
that is, until the writers stared into the vast emptiness of space and became crazy b4 they finished writing the ending...

Credits.
Oh, and this takes place over the course of 2 minutes.
The point is, the ending directly contradicts the entire plot, You're there to SAVE humanity, not destroy the infrastructure of the Galaxy.

The game was good, I won't lie about that, but between the endings, auto-dialogue and etc. I would've expected about an 75 - 80.
Freaking Fable 3 has a Metacritic Score of 80...and that game is a complete dumpster fire.
Do you people play any other games ever? Or do we all just play Biowares precious little gifts from above.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET SOME PERSPECTIVE.

Thank you. You can't rate games based on just what they did RIGHT. You have to look at the game as a whole. Mass Effect 3 made the MAJORITY of it's fans despise the entire series.
How is that a 95/100 game? 5 points off for retroactively killing a franchise, huh?

Pretty much this.
...and the dream sequence....and a few other tid bits that seem like they were taken from other games and juxtapositioned into ME3 for no good reason.

I'll give you an example. Instead of the ending that Return of the Jedi had, when the Death Star 2.0 explodes, so does the galaxy. EVERYONE dies. The entire fleet is decimated. Everyone you've grown invested in is dead. Yeah, the Empire is gone, but it doesn't matter because everyone else is gone too. Then you see C-3PO on a planet with R2-D2, no one else around.

You, along with 95% of BSN, miss the theme of the series ENTIRELY. It is a DARK sci-fi trilogy, not a hollywood fairytale land like starwars. Ending on the note it did was exactly what I was expecting it to do. Sure...the game could use an added ending or 2 giving some glimmer of hope to those who can't comprehend grief, sorrow, and depression in a time of extinction...but saying that ALL the endings need to be scrapped and replaced would be a mockery to what the series stood for.
