So I am starting a brand new playthru as an adept and a sentinel.
For the sentinel I saved after keeping the collector base and for the adept I saved after destroying the collector base.
I kept everyone alive just to see what roles they play and where they will appear. I also kept the original rachni queen alive, instead of killing her and keeping the new rachni reaper queen alive like I did in my last playthru.

I have a few questions:
Is it worth me beating shadow broker and the arrival for the extra storyline that goes into ME3?
How big of an effect does it play on gathering forces and preparing for the war?

Also when you import a character does it use the role playing mode or the story mode? It seemed like alot of the convo's were more cinematic in my last playthru. You couldn't spacebar thru them. I just want to make sure that I have the best dialogue options to drive my story for my second playthru.

None of the choices, from ME1, ME2, or ME3 matter.

That about sums it up.

I would say your choices only matter during the story, not the end....and even so, their effects are insignificant. I was planning multiple playthroughs, but one is sufficient.

If you already own LoTSB and Arrival, then sure, play them. And ME2 is of course an excellent game in its own right, so if you go back and play it, at least do LoTSB. But all that doing some of the extra content does is minorly assist you in terms of war asset stuff. There's no earth-shattering ramifications from most of your choices in general.

Those choices you made are pointless. They only influence certain dialog or a small fraction of the plot. No matter what you did, the 3 endings are pretty similar and depress players.

Oh I know that the endings are quite depressing and frankly they are bs and a huge slap in the face for those who really put alot of time and effort into their story, so as far as I am concerned the story ends with shepard sacraficing himself one of two ways. Either dying in a explosion or being overtaken by energy, but my story ends with the reapers leaving or the reapers being destroyed. You can real easily make a satisfying ending to the game with a bik editor, the flashback scenes, and the new earth scenes without having to see the relays blown apart and joker for no reason outrunning a massive explosion. All it takes is time. You just can't share it or you can even rewrite the ending by creating a new ending then saving that video file as *.bik.

I love the mass effect series, but if you think I'm going to let that stupid depressing ending that bioware just slapped together stop me from truly enjoying this series that I really love, then you are insane. The game was absolutely fantastic until the last 5 minutes. I got a bik editor and alot of mass effect videos either from fraps captures or the available videos. I got flashbacks for all crew members, a new world, the reapers leaving or being destroyed, and everything I need to make it happen.

There is no telling what can be accomplished with piecing together the right ending. Case in point

An awsome video done for miranda's profile that someone put together. (Open in new tab)

Another piece of magic by combining videos and piecing together stuff an amazing video (Open in new tab)

All of your choices are either compounded into the EMS score or give a bit of dialog. It kinda makes sense (EMS bar)...kinda

Wrex, Eve and the krogans would disagree, LEgion and the Geth too.

OP is in denial. No need to try and burst his bubble.

Hey, OP! You go bro! Don't listen to these Salty Sallies. Everything matters! Choices and consequences are everywhere. It's art, baby.

Go enjoy yourself.

Quick Question:

You have 2700 - 3100 EMS

You replace Shepard with in the starkid's room with conrad verner

What changes?

Nothing

The fleets barely help

You are all alone on earth

there is nothing

In ME1 if you upgraded the thanix cannon you got to see a cool cutscene of you using it. If not a squadmate died. in the finale

If you cure the genophage - great! OK + EMS at the finale

If you have peace with quarians and geth - great! + EMS at the finale
