ME2 romancers got punched in the teeth, and I'm more than a little displeased with that.

I can't believe they'd do that after the reaction of the ME1 LI fans when ME2 came out. Why can't they all be equal? :(

Because they arent blue skinned...... wait I'll stop before I finish that statement. Its the anger and depression rising up again. Lashing out.

Good question. I would have gladly traded a few flavour conversations in the Citadel and some of those obnoxious after a while 'you have found an artefact!' side quests for a few extra lines.

I wasn't disappointed at all in choosing to stay with Garrus instead of going back to Kaidan. I thought that the romance with Garrus was really well developed and was integrated into the game quite naturally, as opposed to their fling in ME2.

However, I do wish that after Kaidan asked whether someone was going on between those two, and Shepard admitted to the new relationship, he would have done or said something other than, "Oh, it's cool, I was a jerk on Horizon anyway." You'd think that after holding onto feelings for Shepard for 2-3 years he would have a bit more of a reaction. When I play through again, I'm going to lie to him about it and see whether that ends up in a dramatic situation or not later on, because I honestly thought there would be some sort of conflict there.

I was pleasantly surprised with Kaidans, I really enjoyed it, sorry Thane =(.

I can understand with the ME2 romance people though being disapointed, if I ever get around to making a maleshep I'd like to romance Jack.

I was okay with Kaiden's but I still think there was too much, well, Horizon stuff between them for me to really connect with it. And I didn't get him back for a while (I do the side/hunt and gather quests, so there was some time.) I liked it, but was disappointed with the ending. (How did he get to the Normandy?) Plus, I missed Garrus. So, I'm going back and doing Garrus's.

It felt weird going from "I love you and I want to be with you" to her never leaving her room and then having to have the same convo again. The liara one felt like it needed more and that a lot got cut. But the pieces we did get were really damn good. To bad the endings are going to stop me from ever seeing how the other ones turn out.

I feel the ME2 romances got the shaft. ME1 romances are great and emphasize this deep connection your shepard has with this character over the course of 3 games.

Garrus romance was cool, especially the "Doing one thing you wanted to do before you die" scene, and what happens if you miss on purpose.

But the ending was horrible, and the way Garrus/Tali/basically anyone except the trio from ME1 you romanced were treated in the "flashback sequence" left me with a taste of vomit in mouth.

Everyone who was new in ME2 got the shaft. Instead of one or two of them we get stuck with a new guy? Nothing against Vega but I would have rather had someone I knew from the other games, they seemed to only be around to die ever few hours.

I ported my player from ME2 and continued the relationship with Miranda Lawson.
I was happy with the relationship till you help with her father.
Then you don't see her again, at all and yea it seems upsetting in the end when your saying your "Good-byes" and she isn't there.
Other then that, I love how most of the game turned out, romance wise.
But I did notice it is VERY EASY to fall in love with the same sex, just saying.

Maybe it was a bug? I confirmed Shep and Liara's relationship right at the beginning just after Mars. I see no reason why she would ask for another confirmation.

I thought the ss stuff was really well done. Miles better then DA2 did it.

I wish it would have shown Tali beyond the picture, for the romance itself.
It was very well done overall, but is some ways I felt the scene in two was better.

In one of my runs, Liara was my LI (back from ME1), and I liked it a lot. I am not a fan of other romances, so I do not have any saves with those.

My game must have been the only weird one. I slept with Liara,Miranda,Tali and Ash but where these so called "Consequences"? Heard Tali and Garrus were supposed to have a romance but it's never happened... Also Sex Scenes lacking Action... and I guess Nudity except Liara.

I romanced Tali and was pretty happy overall.

In terms of crew member conversations on the ship and even missions BIoware really stepped up and gave us a lot more content. Tali frequently commented on the missions (I took her on all of them starting when I got her) and we would occasionally have funny romantic banter or flirting. I ended up being very satisfied with it. I really, really wish I could have been able to see myself on her homeworld and helping her build a house at the end but that's getting off track and related to the endings thread.

This , i also don't like that you get her so relativly late in the story.  I wasn't sure what/if sidequests would be unfinishable so i already did a majority of those before flying to the quarian fleet.

Only thing I didn't like was that Citadel scene with Liara where it implied that you were just friends all this time or at best implying you weren't already in a serious relationship(already affirmed in LotSB).

I continued a romance with Garrus and I think the romance was extremely well done.

I do think they give you alot of outs.  At each major romance plot point I had the option to say "I just want to be friends".  Thats just giving you the choice.

Well, considering my LI, Kelly Chambers was presumed to *not* have any romantic angle in this game, I am still sufficiently surprised and happy to complain about it.  I would love an extended date sequence, and there may very well be one there, but for now I'm content to say that if the game ends, then my Shepard is with the one he wants.  My only gripe will be if something happens to the Citadel while she is still on it, because if I had the option, I would absolutely drag her onto the Normandy with me. It's tough leaving her there knowing the Reapers could show up at any point.

My first playthrough I did a liara romance from ME1, thought ME2 with LoTBS, and continued in ME3. In the beginning on mars and the first time on the Normandy, it was good. Continuation from getting back together with lotsb. However it seems that after the first scene on the normandy where the romance is obviously seamlessly continuing, you get friendzoned. All of a sudden there was a conversation on the citadel where she said I was a good friend and I had the option to say I wanted to be more than friends. Really? After confirming what happened in lotsb on mars, and the kissing scene on the Normandy after that, I have to say I want to be more than friends? It's either a bug or sloppy writing.

Now Ashley's romance omy current playthrough, same story. Romanc in mass 1, faithful in mass 2, and I get some options on mars, then the bed scene in the hospital. After that, once she's become a specter, the conversation about her promotion and her sisters memorial are not romance conversations. Apparently there's a cafe conversation that's there to confirm the romance, which would be understandable given her story in me2. But the thing is, that's it. From what I hear the cafe scene is mostly auto dialogue as well. The conversation talking about her specter promotion was fully automatic.

Just wondering if anyone else felt the romances were sloppy, or lacking. Liaras was the best out of the two so far, but they were both kind of bad. It seemed like it was geared towards new players rather than continuing from previous games.

-Polite

How did you get her to recognize the romance from lotsb? In my game she said it's been years since we were together, and I didn't got a kiss
back on the normandy after Mars, almost a kiss but not quite.

After spending 2 games on the SSV Soap Opera, downplaying the romances was a welcome and refreshing change.

I think it was alright really, of course could have been better I guess. I thought that as far as Liara is concerned then Shadow Broker was more appropriate for continuity in the romance than it is at pretty much any point in ME3. Since in ME3 things start to get hectic and chaotic so fast, I'd find it hard to believe that "my" Shepard would find time (even if the desire is there) to focus too much on feelings, things are too important in ME3 but I'm not saying that there shouldn't be any romance at all though. I just think that what we have is "ok" considering what's going on.

Basically if there should have been more romance content for any LI choices then I think that if anywhere then it should have been done in ME1 or ME2, I don't feel that ME3 offers a "friendly enough" context nor atmosphere for hugs and roses. In fact I find ME3 to be depressive overall, not much space in there for thoughts of love, sadly (well, not for my main Shepard anyway until the end, from near the end then yes I think that from that point there should have been more dialog in direct relation to the romance, but there *was* some, just... not enough I guess).

I romanced Ashley in ME1, no one in 2, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the whole thing.

Honestly, after that play through, I felt WAY more connected to Liara then I did Ashley. Especially given Liara's goodbye, where she shares her memories with you and rests her head on Shepard's shoulder. But even before that, I felt like the two showed a lot of chemistry for not having been in a relationship, and that Ashley and Shepard just kept trying to reaffirm if they liked each other.

But I'm wondering if perhaps I missed a goodbye, because now that I think about it, I don't remember my Shepard saying goodbye to Ashley before heading toward the beam to get on the Citadel. I talked to the com officer and said goodbye to all the characters there, I don't believe Ashley was among them. And I talked to Garrus, Wrex, Tali, EDI, and Liara on my way to see Anderson before the final push.

Ashley was on the Normandy after it crashed. So did I miss something? The scene in the captain's quarters is the final goodbye with your LI? That seems pretty weak, especially considering the goodbye I had with Liara. That seemed a lot more personal and interesting.
