So, can someone help me understand something about the last battle?

Do the 2 people you take with you just die when you are running towards the beam that goes to the citadel?

I think it is implied that they huff it back to the Normandy somehow while you play around on the citadel. ( I had Liara in squad and she appeared stepping out of the Normandy crash at the end)

No. Apparently they are magically transported to the Normandy before Joker crashes it into Jurassic Park.

I wish I was not serious.

That's... a good question. I thought so when I heard the radio chatter after getting fried, and almost replayed the entire mission right there, but stuck it out anyway. My squad consisted of Liara and... I think Kaidan? Might have been Garrus. Liara was my LI, and she somehow magically ended up on the magical eden world at the end.

Yeah i was really confused about that whole ship thing as well. I took in Garrus and Liara. After talking to everyone on the battlefield before the last battle i assumed everyone would just be apart of the fight somewhere else, but in my ending when the normandy crashes Tali walks out. Maybe  (since she was my LI) they just throw them on board and thats it? Or i guess when youre chilling in the citadel evryone does just run back to the normandy. Either way it doesn't make much sense to me....

The Normandy actually crashed in the Wilds of Puerto Rico. It'll be years before anyone finds them there....

I was honestly disappointed that Liara showed up in the final cut-scene. I used the fact that I thought she died to make my final decision. It is amazing how our own minds sort of fill in the plot holes like that.

I thought of that too. Then I spent the last 10 minutes talking to the ghost of the Sixth Sense kid and didn't care about anything anymore.

The worst part is that there is no way in hell that anyone but Jeff and the other unimportant crewmates should even be on the Normandy. EDI(or at least her body), Liara, Garrus, etc. were all out there fighting so unless right after Shepard gives that final speech and you pick your party everyone that didnt get chosen was just like "f**k this, im going back to the ship." Then after you make it to the beam, youre party members, who have been (mostly) loyal throughout the game just decide "Oh ok, (s)he made it. (S)He probably doesnt need any help up there, ya know, with all that blood loss and limping and everything. Lets go back to the Normandy, Shepard'll be fine"

I assumed both had died, which added to my grief--I saw an asari leaned up against a downed vehicle and thought it was Liara, and spent a second looking around for Garrus before the husks arrived. I was literally flabbergasted when I saw Garrus step off the Normandy (o ok, that's dandy. Glad my LI survived, but uh, now he's stranded on a remote planet. I'll just chalk this up to more space magic). Definitely added to my big pile of what the hell just happened.
