Sure, it has a few problems. It is by no means perfect, but there is one single reason it was worth getting.
Ladies and Gentlemen, that single reason is...
"Blasto 6: Partners in Crime"
I just sat and listened to the whole thing and it was hilarious. My hat of to whoever "translated" that into the game, you certainly did the movies justice... The Blasto way.
Why Mass Effect 3 was worth it.

To be fair, ME3 was an absolutely awesome game, once you actually got Origin to work right, and before the final conversation. I had a blast all the way through the game, but the final conversation just left me all "WTF is this crap?"

ME3 is an awesome game.
From a gameplay perspective, I would say it's the best 3rd person shooter out there due to the sheer amount of abilities and combos and different styles of play that are fun and viable.
From a story perspective, most of it is great.
That's why the last ending sequence feels doubly painful. Everything leading up to it is so much fun. Then we get...something.

ME3 was an excellent game right up until the ending.
I don't think people would be this upset of the entire game was lackluster.
