Was just listening to this while replaying the game in my head.
I think I need a hug now. :[
I've made an edited version with the credits. lol
The sad thing is that it fits the credits perfectly.

I know that feel bros
Its ok though, it will be alright becouse we are the Shepards, WE are Mass Effect, we can each chose what the REAL ending will be in our minds, after all the universe is alive in us, not just the software, if we didnt buy their product Mass effect wouldnt be anything but code on a disc.

Yeah.
The saddest part is when Chester is singing "i put my trust in you" and the name of the squadmates, LI and other characters pop up on the screen.

Bioware has caused a bunch of random strangers to start hugging each other. Isn't that a phenomenon that deserves the reward of a better ending?
I'm not a sociologist, but I have some background in social science. I do hope that there are some sociologists, psychologists, or anthropologists out there who are following this. Rather than the troll-fests that sometimes follow other game releases, this has more the markings of collective trauma. People are losing sleep, not eating, going into depressions.
And it's more than just a sense of loss that the game series is over (people sometimes have reactions to the end of beloved TV series, for example). The ending failed to bring catharsis. Our emotional engagement was ratcheted up expertly and satisfyingly by the ME3 story. And then TWACK SNAP - the immersion breaks, we're given some kind of abstract philosophical and metagaming choice, and all we know and love in this fictional universe comes crashing down around us.
This makes me happy :
In a sense, it's a testament to the immersion Bioware created that we react to these pixels almost like we would react to the real annihilation of the Earth.
2 semesters, then I realized that I had clinical depression, so I became a cook, because honestly if I can't hold it together how can I help people LOL.
but yeah, you're absolutely right, and it's hard to explain to other people because there is no similar thing for them. It's like... Ugh. When I was 10 I used to go to this internet cafe. I used to spend 4 - 6 hours there everyday after school, playing CS and sometimes Warcraft 3. Then it closed, and everyone got free time, and they handed out food. I bawled for hours after that. so were other people, because it was a place you could go to that was safe and secure, and people were happy there.
They were a community.
Now this, this is ALSO a community, we've built this huge connection with fictional characters, and we expect better... I forgot where I'm going with this. but you know connections and stuff.
Sorry, I've been drinking a little.

See that's the right kind of emotional impact. I sincerely hope nobody at Bioware thinks the outrage over the ending is the same as that.
I miss you, Mordin. <3
All of this is so true. Out of my top 5 games of all time, only this one made me actively think as I played it, "This is the greatest game I have ever played, and it's not even close." Choked up 4-5 times, screen was too blurry to see when Mordin died. Then the ending....god...
My long-time bro dog Jasper died a few months ago, and this doesn't feel nearly as bad as that. But he had a long, happy life and it was his time. This feels completely different. Empty.

I honestly feel like the kids from south park in the "Indiana Jones" episode. You know the one. Then again, I just finished it hours ago. Saw Joker get off Normandy with Edi and LI, waited for epilogue to see SOMETHING and saw a old dude talking to his grandson. I'd drink if I could, but I drank all my beer yesterday.
So true! I felt like the kids in South Park too, and that was my exact reaction:
