You realize all the evidence points to ME4 right? (or at least large, post-ultimatum DLC)

Cliffhanger was the key word used in the OP. This was Shepard's last game...we were prepared for an end.

Maybe even to be fair we're so spoiled in being able to effect the outcome that when finally presented with "There is nothing you can do to conventionally save the universe" we went all TROLL BULL**** on the board.

But this kind of response should have been anticipated by the designers. I'm smart enough to know what they tried to convey, but I also know that like DA2 no matter what I couldn't stop ignorance from rearing it's stupid ugly head. I just got done talking TIM out of stupidity just to be faced with another hard headed equally ignorant piece of AI refusing to believe that synthetics and organics could co-exist.

Actually most people were prepared for 16 different endings. All depending on the choices you make in the game (one of the devs said that prior to the release of the game). Instead we got 3 very similar endings.

Yeah... Galactic Reset button... its done. The problem with the whole endings is that this was a story about just Organics Vs Synthetics and the endings turn this into a cheap BSG rip off. trying emulate something that took 4 years to set up with crappy pseudo- philosophical God AI logic about the doing this to save life.

I don't mind downer endings at all... matter of fact they can be rather good and provoke thought but this was just ending the is mess.

In one of the interviews Mike Gamble said to hold on to your final game saves for ME3.

Either their is a post game DLC coming that looks at that info or there is a future title. If it's a DLC then maybe we'll get a good ending. But if it is a game taking place after ME3, then it will not have Shepard as the PC. It would use that final save as history of the galaxy kind of the way DA2 did with the info from the DA:O save. At least this is what I am thinking.

If this is true, this is why Bioware has gone down the poop shoot. EA pressuring them to give an unsatisfying ending so they can sell a more satisfying DLC ending!

We had 3 choices, but 16 endings. The cinematics are different based on your military strength and other factors. It's mainly dependant on whether or not you saved the collector base.

After spitting in my face and punching me in the balls with these endings, they expect me to care about the Mass Effect franchise now? I hope you're joking.

No, I'm not joking. Evidence points to an ME4 (codename) which uses your ME3 save data. That is reason enough to not be so insulted by these endings. It's not ending here.

**IF** shepard is broght back, he's still alive, assuming you destroyed synthetics with full military strength.

Either way, codename ME4 is in the works.

Meh. Even if the supposed ME4 uses flags from ME3 saves, it'll be minor stuff. No point in rebooting the franchise only to bog the development in a mire of backward compatibility.

Not that I care if the ME trainwreck continues or not...

That's even worse (ME4 rather than DLC) , since that means BioWare will handwave how all the endings essentially lead to the same story with virtually no changes.

Or they'll just declare a canon ending to make ME4 work, probably either control or destroy. I don't know which one is worse.

I think Wrex and Eve said it best on Tuchanka. Shepard will forever be remembered as a hero and a legend in the minds of the Krogan. He gave them a new future.

As with many other races I imagine. BioWare still has variables that they can carry over into a new game should they choose to do so. Maybe that's what was meant by keeping our ME3 saves.

Actually is was taken from the "Winter on Mars" background, which had no correlation to ME3.

I always thought the dream forest was too... dead, and non-wintery to be the post-credits locale.

"One more story" was an excuse to sell DLC. Hell, something pops up telling you to look for future DLC as soon as you finish that scene. EA at work again.

I dont think that's an excuse for DLC. They do the same thing for ME2, but it's post-suicide mission cause he lives for sure. ME3, he dies 90% of the time, so the only feasable place to pick up would be before the final mission.
