BUT. And it's a big BUT: the rest of the game is just amazing. The designs are wonderful. The stunning moments are just that. Stunning. The personal moments with squadmates and ex-squadmates alike are so well done. You guys nearly brought me to tears several times.
I was a -little- put off by the auto-dialogue, but I got over it because I understood this needed to be a bit more tightly woven tale. And it got better as the game progressed. The urgency and severity of the war was so well conveyed. But again: the moments with my former squadmates really made the game for me. And the time you spent on the conversations, not just between my Shepard and the squaddies, but also amongst themselves is staggering. Very impressed with the game as a whole.
Combat was as great as ever. Multiplayer is fun. Well done, guys. If you add in an ending DLC to tie up loose ends and give us a more definitive/satisfying ending: this will be wthout a doubt the BEST game trilogy/series of all time. I honestly can't see anybody ever topping this series. I'm truly in awe. Bravo.
