My game refused to install, said it couldn't find CD 1. Even this method didn't work at first, until I remembered to unset all the files from read only. Now it looks like it is downloading the last few missing megs Thanks for the help.

i got game today,i was so happy that you cant imagine,i insert the disc in drive,clicked install,activated game,clicked next,clicked next>>>WTF insert key again!?,ok wtf key is already used? only way to get the game is to download it,well no thx i wont download 10gb while i have 2 discs intact(i havent even put disc 2 in drive) i hope this get fixed in very short time,time for fruit ninja now i guess to relax..
p.s. sorry for post bellow it wasnt on purpose,i didnt knew difference between quick post and post reply

Playing for a couple hours now without any problem. Amazing game. But is it true that the same problem exists with the DLC?

Ergomano said in step 3 to copy the z01 file to the temp but never said what to do with it. Is this a file that needs extracting as well as the option doesn't come up with WinRAR or can you just copy it to the ME3 folder?

I managed to find the option to extract the z01 file via 7 zip however it says when I do that it can't extract it as an archive? What am I doing wrong?

I talked to the origin live help. The serial code that i got with my game, which i must point out is hard copy with two dvds, is for digital version!!!!!!!!!!!! This is obviously EA mistake so why would you all do all the goddamn steps to install the game you paid for ? Do you get it ? Return it and demand a copy with proper serial !!!

P.S: Thanks Ergomano and Mesina 2 for solving this problem!
Although it's solomn solution if you think about it....

I have the same problem. It just keeps asking the code over and over again. Rebooting the computer doesn't help. Haven't tried to copy those files as suggested in some post above. Shouldn't be that difficult to install a game. Download at 80% 1h to go.

I cannot find these to delete anywhere?

^Just go to directory you installed Origin and you'll find DownloadCache folder and just delete account email address.

I played ME3 so ignored BSN for some time.


Well, you have to copy/paste files from both disks in same folder and then extract to installation directory.

Please help i got error at 99 percent using this method error 262145:5 in download cache there was only OriginThinSetup and i deleted everything in mass effect 3 folder.What is wrong?

I'm also still trying this method, it worked 7 months ago when i was bought this "unfinished" game, but now as you said this method doesn't work anymore.

My downloading cache folder is always empty even downloading from the internet. I talked 3 different people from EA Live Chat after 20 minutes later they're saying always "We are investigating the issue. We'll let you known with any new information when it becomes available."

This is so ridiculous...

Last words: I swear, I'LL NEVER BUY ANY EA/ORIGIN GAMES and I'LL NEVER BUY ANY BIOWARE GAMES.

Last news:

Egermano's method worked for me again! You must clear "Read-Only" attribute from all files in Mass Effect 3 folder. After the new Origin updates, you must do this. Btw, my downloadcache folder is still empty. I'm using Total Commander too.

I have different problem. When i finish copy all game files from discs i cant install game. When i click on install button it says "installing" but after one minute the window close and nothing happens
