SP:
Shepard would either be alive or dead, but his story would end meaning he did it, saved the galaxy or gave it hope so they can finally effectivly fight back. If alive, he would either be fighting on other fronts or enjoying his long deserved vacation (for all you "romantics" out there). The new player, either being an unknown or a char that bioware gives us would either fight the reapers or have some different main plot (this time it wouldn't be saving the galaxy). It could also show us how other races are coping, rebuilding and what not.
MP:
Ok i think that everyone by now wo tried multiplayer can agree that Bioware did a hell of a job. Now with little bit of modification they could make it even better. The game would still be co-op but it would be played just like single player missions, only with less choices and more boss fights. Why less choices? Each player has his own moral playstyle in this game and it would easily upset others if they didn't choose something others wanted.
Also NO MMO please. 4-man co-op is way better.
