How come the xbox can install the game to its hard drive yet the ps3 cant do it? this would clear up loads of frame rate issues and make your lifes 100% easier when it comes to dealing with issues?

Himanshu: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Himanshu how may I help you?
Himanshu: Hello
you: i am having a huge problem with mass effect ***** on the ps*****
Himanshu: Okay, I&#*****;ll try my best to assist you here
you: the frame rate is really poor is there anything in the pipeline to fix this issue ?
Himanshu: Okay, May I please know your PSN id ?
you: ypmud
Himanshu: There may be some corrupt files on your system. Let’s try to delete these files by following the steps below:
*****. Press the PS button on the controller to enter the PLAYSTATION ***** XBM (XrossMediaBar).
*****. Select the Game tab.
*****. Select the Game Data Utility and press the X button.
*****. Select your game
*****. Find and delete all the files listed.
you: ive tried that
Himanshu: Okay, the game frame rate is slow in online gaming or offline too ?
you: offline im playing the story mode and its down below ***** frames per second which for a current generation game is just shocking
Himanshu: Yes, you are right.
Himanshu: This issue can also be caused due to corrupt game save files, please follow the below given steps to delete your game save files:
*****. Press the PS button on the controller to enter the PLAYSTATION ***** XBM (XrossMediaBar).
*****. Select the Game tab.
*****. Select the Save Data Utility and press the X button.
*****. Delete all the files related to the game.
Note: &#*****;deleting your game save file would reset your offline game progress and you would need to play the game from start.
you: its very jerky
you: also tried that too
you: half the problem is the fact that the blu ray is constatnly reading which is a knwon issue and that it is significantly slower than the ps*****&#*****;s internal hard disk
Himanshu: Okay, In that case, let me escalate this issue to our higher support for better investigation. They&#*****;ll look into this and reply you back through email in another *****-***** hours,
you: ok this problem could be fixed if an install option was added to the next patch of the game
you: the game relys heavily on streaming the whole game off the blu ray this causes really low framerates and poor loading times
Himanshu: I&#*****;ll escalate right after this chat along with chat transcript so that higher support can have better look
Himanshu: Thank you for contacting EA. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
basically it looks like ea are not aware of the issue as of yet !

It's totally unacceptable to try playing this game with the massive amount of noise my PS3 makes because it has to read directly from the disc.
This is on top of the THREE freezes I've had in the first 4 hours of the game.

But that argument would be invalid since PSN allows direct download of ME3.

It's not that I don't believe you. I just think that if he takes the time to address one member through a PM, an announcement should simply be made so that everyone is aware of it.

09:58 AM 2012-03-09 Hi Chris
Im asking out of pure desperation and to be fair total frustration, with the retail version of me3 are bioware aware that there is severe issues with lagg and loading issues not to mention the insane work the blu ray drive has to put in to stream the whole game off the disc, basically in a nutshell its casing huge issues with people playing the game, is there any way bioware can incorporate in their next patch for me3 an install game data option to remove the bottle neck from the ps3 (the blu ray drive) ?
Thanks

Thankfully, aside from some crashing, my game is running alright.

I'm quite surprised about all the complaints the PS3 version is getting. Maybe I'm just ignorant because I don't have the 360 version but the game has been running incredibly well for me. I'm nine hours in and outside the very beginning of the game I haven't had any real issues (other than getting blank screens when using the elevator at the Citadel).
In fact the game runs a heck of a lot better than Mass Effect 2 did for me on the PS3 (the DLC quests in ME 2 were especially painful... at times they were almost like a slide show with all the constant studdering). That said I'd gladdly welcome an optional/mandatory game install to the HDD. I've got a 640gb HDD installed in my PS3 just because all the mandatory installs in the past.

It doesn't have to be mandatory, it just has to be an option. Even so having to install this game would make it run a lot smoother.
