make it mandatory. The games MP is the only thing running almost right. SP is unplayable in too many areas! I almost stopped ME3 due to the Asari homeworld. There are other terrible spots that cause the game to freeze well before then, but that place was 3 frames a sec tops the whole time!!!

INSTALL MANDATORY.

Sometimes (rare) when I load up the game the framerate is complete crap, but other times (mostly) it works perfect.

It was actually wondering about this yesterday. The PS3 version would have been so much better if there was an option to install the game to the Hard drive.

The game runs fine for me, but I would love an HDD install option just to get rid of the noise my PS3 makes having to read off the disc all the time.

They should patch it in. In a perfect world you should be able to install every game on your PS3 like you can 360.

I still can;t understand why they let us install ME2 on the HD but ME3 not. Unbelievable.

I think many have left to other games.

They really need to make an install option for us, that being said, I'm not betting on it.

I can't wrap my head around that too. It's a step backwards...

Whatever though, I'm done with Bioware and Bethesda. They'll never get my money for a new game again. IDGAF.<_<

I have no idea why they decided on no install, heck ME2 had an 5.3gb install on ps3.

Would be helpful if a mod or Bioware employee wold post in here with a credible reason as to why the PS3 doesn't install to HDD.....

Would be more helpful, to just do the HDD install for the PS3 version. I'll feel relieved that my game disc isn't running constantly every time I play the game.

How much good would an install do really? Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins both had mandatory installs and they still had frame rate issues (ME2 was worse than ME3 during several areas in this regard; almost all the DLC content ran like a slideshow).

Also the PSN versions of Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 (don't ask me why I bought them when I had the disc versions :P) don't run any better. The difference in load times is hardly noticeable and there's no improvement with frame rate. Granted the discs versions each had installs but their installs were half the size of the PSN digital download versions and they play virtually the same.

So I'm not entirely convinced that a game install will fix anything. It might help I guess but I think the main issue is poor coding, which is something a game install can't really fix.

I was surprised too when there was no HDD install when I first popped the disc in. At first I thought it was my new hd causing the lag, but I could tell it wasn't accessing the HD, it was all from the disc. All my other games were like "whoa, i need twenty minutes and 4gb to make sure this doesn't suck." So why ME3 didn't do this I just don't understand. My other games have installs... I doubt it would be a cure all, but I don't think it could hurt either.

Conspiracy theorists would suggest that Microsoft "convinced" Bioware to not let HDD install be an option on PS3 or allow resolution beyond 720p to try and convince gamers to migrate to Xbox or PC gaming.

But that argument would be invalid since PSN allows direct download of ME3.

And 2/3 or more of PS3 games are 720p native, which is why most games run in 720p, whereas 360 upscales 100% of it's games, hence why every 360 game can run in 1080p.

But I agree, and install option should be present in ME3.

Add me to the list of those wanting an HDD install option. If you can download the game on PSN then there is no reason it can't be done for disc purchasers!

I agree, I was surprised that ME3 didn't install while ME2 supported that feature.

Install would be nice......kind of figured this game would have one.

Also kind of think we should be pressing Sony to make a install option on a system update.
