The reason for sabotaging the cure is because post war is not the time to have full strength Krogan, because they cannot be trusted even with both Wrex and Eve. This should be the dialog option, rather than because Shepard wanted the Salarian fleet. Furthermore, the cure has been cobbled together without adequate testing and leaves the Krogan open to all the side effects that Mordin in his usual haste seems prone to attract (hamster on speed). Best would be to lie to Wrex and when his power was undermined as the truth came out, let Grunt take control and then cure the genophage. Sort of the the US did in Iraq... although that didn't work out so well.
Can you save Mordin if Wrex is alive?
