The story is engaging and the characters are all there, the action is smoother and the fighting more intense but... Where is my ability to control the course of the story? Where are the plethora of conversation options and why aren't there just MORE conversation options all together? I spend alot of time just watching a movie instead of having an interactive experience. It's dissapointing. I'm still having fun, but I find myself getting bored and kinda feeling a bit betrayed by BW here. It just makes me a sad panda is all

Part of it is that so many of the things that happen in ME3 are dictated by the actions you've taken in previous games. This is why it's so important to import your old saves: without doing that, you're seeing the consequences to actions that you didn't have a part in, and that you might not even recognize as consequences.
Very few of the choices in ME3 are "railroaded" in the sense that you have no control over them. However, many of them are set in stone by the time you start the game due to how you played the previous games.

If you're frustrated with the conversations, I can't wait until you come back in a few days with your thoughts on the ending.

I did import my other saves and what not and I get where you're coming from on that point, but they took out alot of the nuance by removing some of the conversation options and ability to steer the conversation. There is no 'grey' response any more (no third option) and alot of the conversation goes on with out player input regardless so you have no choice in wether you make paragon or renegade slanted conversations.
It's just less than I had come to expect from BW.

Not that I disagree with you, but that's peanuts compared to the endings. Just wait. Come back to learn about the Stages of Grief from those of us who have reached Acceptance (I haven't yet, personally).
