The Mass Effect 3 Server is unavailable at this time. Please try again later.

The selected save game cannot be loaded. The following downloadable content is missing: From Ashes

YGBSM. Didn't someone once say that a permanent connection would not be required to play the game? And hey, because it's not Origin that requires a permanent connection it's technically not even untrue.

Me, too. This really sucks.
Having some free time now (which is rare nowadays ) and now I can't play?
I had to go against my principles and accept origin on my system because I just like Mass Effect and Bioware a lot. But this is seriously bad. I played before, the game (and origin for that matter) should _know_ my DLC is authorized. Why can't you store that information offline so I can play a single player game without being connected to you servers? My connection works, your servers seem not to be available. This isn't funny anymore. Game developers have to seriously reconsider this whole DRM nonsense. I bet all the crackers out there are now laughing at the people who pay for your living by buying your games - and then go back to playing like we should be able to.

Short version of  above rant:
Shame on you Bioware and EA.

EDIT: It's working again now. But my opinion remains the same. This shouldn't be allowed to happen.

I'm still getting it. Have been ever since I incorrectly turned off my computer when I ended the game.

The server goes down several times a day, sadly, both for SP and MP. It's ridiculous TBH.

I can't play either.

Way to punish people who actually pay for your games....

Absolutely appalling. I'm having it happen to me right now.

I reset my computer and got lucky to log in but this is an issue that needs to be addressed. My game shouldn't be dependent on the Internet to run. (SP at least.)

Suggestion to Bioware:
1) On successful connection to server create encrypted token on local PC
2) Put info about user account and activated DLC in there. Also an number (e.g 5)
3) When game starts without internet connection, look for said token.
4) If number > 0, decrease number by one and let the player enjoy his/her game
5) On next successful connection reset number
6) ...
6) Profit (by having happy customers who can ytually play your games)!

This happens most times I try to start the game. I don't think the server is actually down, more likely congested or otherwise unreliable. Just keep retrying. It often takes 20-30 minutes for me to connect and be able to play the game. It's a horrible example of DRM. EA/Bioware should be embarrassed.

Last night I started getting messages while playing the game that the connection was lost and I would not be able to access online portions of the game. I was playing SP, so I didn't give a damn about online portions of the game, but the message kept popping up ever 5 minutes or so, causing the game to freeze until I dismissed it. When I tabbed out to a browser, my Internet connection was just fine. Presumably it was just a problem with the POS EA server again.

Down again now. Sad that the cracked versions of EA games usually work better than if you actually pay (like I did.) People who have a cracked version of this game aren't stopped from playing when EA's stupid auth servers go down  -- only paying customers are stopped.
Job well done EA!

They don't care.

Customer problems are just a casualty of them trying to earn more money in cross-platform marketings.

As long as the money they earn on messing up the consumer experience outweighs the loss of consumers that get fed up by their disrespectfull behaviour, they will continue to treat you without respect.

The witcher 1-2, Skyrim, LOGrimrock, DX HR, M&Blade, These games are SP and aren't burdened by BlizUbiEA's ham-fisted DRM schemes...***** 'em, there are plenty of great games out there that does not need constant server-support in order to play!

I bought every Bioware product pre-ME3/DA2 but held off on buying those two games....Now I'm glad I did! Bioware is no longer their own company, simply a division of EA, the arch-enemy of the gaming industry, and the wet-dream of soul-less corporate degenerates...(Not to be confused with entrepreneurs and honest business folk)

I am having the exact same problem. I finally decided to replay ME3 despite the poor ending only to have it freeze in the middle of scenes to tell me ive lost connection with the servers. I was in SP and therefore didnt give a damn. Its really jarring and downright infuriating to have the main SP game freeze every few minutes because of a server issue. I would expect that from MP but not when im just playing normally. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection so i can only assume its once again a fault with EA <_<

Just turn 'off' your internet connection and it'll work fine. Its only a problem when you're online and you're having connection difficulties, or EA servers are on the fritz.

I swear I use to hear about how good EA's servers were for NBA Live and Madden. Why is ME3 having problems regularly?

Are the servers down again or am I only one having problems at this time? Origin is online, but connection with ME3 server fails at startup of the game.

[edit]
I can't even play SP because of DLC's that can't be authorized. This is so annoying.

Fun stuff, can't even load my single player saved games despite Origin (which is still online) having a list of what DLC I have on my system.

Did want to play some MP, fair enough that relies on a server so that's off the table, why exactly am I being forbidden from continuing my SP game though?

Same here, it says that I have to be logged to my account to get access to DLC content.

Says the server is down and I can't verify my DLCs and I just finished ME2 and would like to play ME3. 30 minute wait on chat help and seems they don't answer anything here since this thread is 11 months old. I mean really? I paid for ME1, 2, 3 and multiple DLCs and they can't store a cookie or something on my computer for at least the single player part so I can play the game while their server is down?
