First, I apologize if this has already been brought up.

My friend and I were chatting about how useless we feel shapeshifting is since you're losing all your mage skills and, in another conversation entirely, how there is no true summoner line for the mage. So it occured to me: make the shapeshifter creatures simply be a pet like a ranger's pet. The shapeshifter line would have to be renamed to Summoner or something, obviously. Anyway, just throwing this out there as a request for any mod develpers. Thanks for reading.

If you did that you'd probably need to change Ranger into something that has more to do with archery than with summoning.
