I do hope people will still post here, I mean, I JUST discovered it a week ago and have went through ALL 154 pages before I decided to start posting and I still have a bunch of motivationals that I've been planning to upload incrementally...So, Joe left a while back and Ashira, that leaves Cossack, Gears effect and llane as the only consistant posters right? :crying:

Mass Effect got the extended cut and this thread just got cut...I have not yet played EC yet FYI, as I'm about to hit the hay.:?

I'll leave this here

Well... Just finished EC (slow internet is slow). The new/updated endings are ...better. ME3 has its issues, but this is not the time or the place to discuss them. I'll just say that I'm much happier with what EC gave us.

I'm not even going to try and come up with anything new right now, so I'll just repost this:

I can't promise that I'll post consistently (or much at all), but I'll be around.

Goodbye, Cossack. Although you may see yourself as just another poster, you're a hero in my eyes. ;)

You know what?
I didn't really like the original endings, but the new endings are way better. They're actually pretty good. I mean what's not to like with the best destroy ending (which I chose). Shepard is still alive (barely), the citadel/relays will be repaired and the geth can also be brought back. I forgot what the catalyst exactly said, but it was something about that the technology that would be destroyed could be repaired (Citadel, relays, geth, etc.) What's bad about that? Nothing.
So screw everyone that hates me for liking the (new) endings and screw people who think 'oh, there was a bad ending so I don't want anything to do with Mass Effect ever again'
It was a great game, a great series and people ho really are fans should either: like the endings, make their own endings or deal with it.

OK, I just had to get that out.

There is a part of me that agrees with you. Then there is the other part that can't get over all the plotholes and handwaves and that little sh*tkid and the fact that I still have to headcanon and guess my semi-happy ending (reunion and all that).

Who cares about plotholes. I only didn't like that they didn't go further on Shepard being alive :(

Oh well.

And now th twist for ME4: The Milky Way isn't the only galaxy that gets reaped!
There are billions more Reapers that didn't get destroyed (they weren't in our galaxy) And they are coming!!!
...
Yes? No?
It's just, the mass effect universe doesn't feel the same if there's no huge threat luming over the galaxy...

Waitwait... Synths can survive in the "Ultimate Destroy" EC ending?  I was told that they didn't...  Does EDI make it too?

What's the new EMS needed for this?  I'm presuming that making Timmay go out Saren style still reduces?

I just played through the Best Possible Destroy ending, and I'm pretty sure all the synthetics are toast. The damage to the relays and the Citadel is repaired, but EDI was not with the rest of the crew and the Geth were missing in the epilogue even though I did broker peace on Rannoch.

This was with a Shepard I took through the entire trilogy and 97% Galactic Readiness, so my EMS (yes, Effective) was 7000+

The Catalyst says "the technology you rely on will be damaged, but those that survive should have little trouble repairing the damage" or something along those lines. So, as far as I can tell all the actual, self-aware AIs are toast. Reapers, EDI and the Geth.

...and the Catalyst, but who cares about that bugger?

Yeah, all robots bite the dust in the destroy ending.

Since I think the Geth are so damned cool it was difficult for me to choose destroy, but I find it impossible to not see control and synthesis as anything but traps, regardless of what happens afterwards.

OK, so the synthetics get 'killed' by the blast. The catalyst says they will die. And I think that's Bioware's intention, that there are no more AI, at least, until new ones are built.

But I DON'T CARE!
The catalyst said the damage could be repaired. If they can rebuild the relay network, they can bring back the geth and EDI. who cares if you don't see them in any scenes. They're either not brought back yet, or they're just outside of the camera view. You might not see them alive, but you don't see them dead either, now do you?

So in my ending, the geth get brought back.

Who would win in Star Wars vs Reapers?

I think FTL drives are slower than hyperdrive, but hyperdrive is slower than relays. So if there are no relays, probably Star Wars. Otherwise...

still star wars, they have death star or eclipse...

Using your hyperdrive is essentially going into FTL travel, hence the term lightspeed.  I think the Reapers would have a hard time trying to harvest the Star Wars galaxy, especially since it has large fleets, superweapons like the Death Star and Jedi who can pull 100 ton starships out of orbit with their minds. Not to mention how big the SW galaxy is.
