Paint can do wonders to otherwise ordinary objects.

I know that! Got that Demotivational saved on my PC since Mass Effect 2... actually, I remember that almost 10 guns from ME2 can be accurately reproduced using custom-painted Nerf guns.
Now, if only there was a Nerf version of the Eagle I could start that Paladin cosplay project...

Hey now, at least omnitools work on wood.
At least...I think they do. Come to think of it, there's not a lot of wood in the Mass Effect universe.

Wood is likely a resource limited only to this planet. At least in the real world... well... universe.

There are trees on Sur'Kesh(Salarian Homeworld) and Rannoch(Quarian Homeworld).
I don't remember seeing any on Thessia and we never actually go to Palaven,
AND I almost forgot, in ME3 when you go do the plot relevant stuff on Tuchanka, during the ancient ruins section, there are trees growing.

All Thessia settings we've seen in-game are in cities. There's wooden wall panels in the building Firebase Goddess is set in though. Being a long-lived species, the asari would likely value durabillity.
