Never noticed the cannibal had a corpse for a gun, myself. Only clicked when I read it in the artbook. Should see what they say about the Ravager (rachni husk).

YES. I was reading through the book and I was just like, "Oh, God." And then I got to the ravager...

But the rest of that paragraph made me lol: "We're not sure if this is actually more palatable, but it made for more interesting gameplay." XD

Yeah. the scanner in the middle of the ship is just irritating. i dont have a huge problem with the new Normandy overall... in fact, i rather love the battery now... but wtf. where's my peeps? its so empty and sad. i miss my crew being everywhere.

secondly... can anybody answer as to why Liara has the headpieces?

Because....well...yeah.

...I thought it was for decontaminating you when you got on the ship, since you always end up in the war room after each mission. But I just realized the airlock is on the opposite end of the ship... How would you get to the war room without passing through the scanner in the first place?
