Agreed. There is no option where you can avoid screwing over at least one of your loyal squadmates or one of the civilizations you just rescued.

Not to mention the relays are destroyed no matter the option, so civilization is buggered anyway.

in regards to bugs, mass effect 2 has always had weird bugs.

mass effect 3 i exepereinced less bugs. You mentioned shotty graphics. I replayed part 2, and me3 graphics are a great improvement.

the rpg elements in part 3 are greater than 2. there is way more customization in 3

Why is that a bad thing? It is the only way you can avoid having black and white polarised options (which make morality pointless as you are either an angel or a devil).

It's like claiming the decision on Virmire in ME1 wasn't thought through, or the decision to save the council at the cost of Alliance lives or not.

Grey choices without any clear 'good' or 'evil' are a lot more difficult to make, and a hell of a lot deeper.

While I agree that the endings suck, I feel that you should be correct when you say they suck as well.

Shepard does, in fact, live if you have ~4000 asset points (not "total" but "effective" military strength - though some people have stated that it only needs to be 3500).

Wait do you mean to tell me you can't get a perfect ending without using multiplayer! Casey Hudson said you wouldn't have to play multiplayer to get a perfect ending! I am really, really pissed right now!

I think this is theoretically possible to do only in single player. But you can miss virtually nothing to get it. These sort of achievements and easter eggs that require such tedious attention detract from the game in any case.

The last ten minutes are underwhelming but the biggest letdown of the year when we're only three months in? No. The game is still fantastic and Game of the Year quality.

The difference here is that you just go through a bunch of missions to fix something or save people, only to have the ending written already that undoes it. From a story standpoint, I agree with you. It is a deeper choice. But from a game standpoint, it feels like they're just ignoring their own plotlines.

Another example is Morinth/Samara. That's one of the darker choices in the series but it's a choice you have control over. Imagine if you'd figured out what you need to do to get Morinth on your squad, only to have a seemingly unrelated decision later kill her off anyway.

I am optimistic in that I hope this is as bad as it gets. Definitely doesn't get my Game of the Year vote.

I never put ME as GOTY quality. Good game, but it needs more. The MP isn't bad, but the SP needs another six months, and the game could use a patch of about two months of bug scrubbing and fixing.

I find the ending satisfactory, but to even grab that GOTY you need everything about the game to blow people away. Not just sell well because of expected ME name.

I give it an 8/10, but it could have been improved. However, you did want the VS back, more variety (Cortez, Kaidan) and more discussion, so they gave it.

Surprisingly the MP isn't tacky like Dead Space 2.

teh games i played this past year - uncharted 3, batman arkham city and mass effect 3. i'd defintely have to give the nod towards mass effect 3. mass effect 3 is a heck of a lot more fun than uncharted 3.

i kind of wish bioware had spent another 6-8 months on the game mkaing it longer.

I just beat the game. I am in awe at how bad this game ended up. I was fine with shotty graphics and glitches. I was fine with the loss of RPG elements. I was fine with the cutscene of Shepard romancing Miranda cutting to black at the beginning of it (not really though). But the endings of the game. Good god, they're down right horrible! All three endings end with Shepard dying and the same damn cutscene happening but with different colors and characters! What happen to the "great story-telling"? I mean are you ****ing kidding me?! And to top it off they say that the player should be ready to play some DLC to continue Shepard's "legend". Is this just EA ruining the **** out of such a great game or is this Bioware running out of ideas and ****ing up? I am truly let down. Not only did I have trouble installing everything before even playing, the actual game ended up poorly. Well I guess I have SimCity or Assassins Creed to look foward to.

My Shepard actually survived the ending, after the cutscene where Joker leaves the ship on that stranded planet there was a cutscene where I saw N7 armor and someone suddenly gasping for air. It was the renegade ending though.

Games do not exist to be beaten, games exist to be played. This is a great game to play even with the "What the heck was that?" endings.

Well, maybe for you, but for me ME3 is most bugged game from ME series, bugs like face imports bugs, some bad imported player choices, Shepard ''jamming'', graphics bugs (textures and shadows mostly) etc.. :pinched:

Still I think that ME3 is pretty good (delete endings ;-)) but it's not the best game of the ME series.

:?

...no, this game's terrible. It's not to the the capability and finished/ polished as it should be. It was most definitely rushed. They better update and expand/ fix everything stated, or I want my money back/ never supporting EA, Origin's knock-off of Steam, and definitely campaigning against it all

Bioware doesn't care. They just see MONEY MONEY MONEY. And are now working on screwing over another of their franchises. I think Jade Empire will be next.

Spoken like a child - Bioware posted that they are reading the concerns about the ending but want to see more and more people beat it/contribute feedback before they speak on their plans. They've also indicated there are things coming down the pipe that may contribute past the ending.

Try to at least read the forums before you spew pointless whine at it.

the whole game is a total letdown. they have tried to streamline the RPG feel of the game to make it more action oriented, and the end result is chaos.
half the time you don't have a damn clue what you are meant to be doing and missions pop up in your codex without even having spoke to anybody about it
(you just have to run past somebody talking and overhear them mumbling some crap and it starts a mission)
which means once you figure out what the hell you were meant to do in the mission you have no idea who gave you it in the 1st place.

I doubt i will even finish this game

I´ve seen these thread again and again and again before I finished the game, so I went and checked how many ending there were, and according to ign there is 16 ending depending on how much war assests you got and how much galaxy readiness you have, I aimed for the best ending where I destroy the reapers, in the end my Shepard lived and I was quite happy how it all ended.

So thats why I keep seeing these threads and I keep wondering, what are the ending these people are playing?!

Same here, minus looking at IGN.

This is not a popular opinion to have.  I approve.

I wouldn't call it a letdown, its a great game, aside from ending I only hate Tali's face (how crappy it is implemented, the design is ok). The other things I am not happy about I can accept.

I agree on the loss of rpg element: No explorable, open-ended dynamics and play-through/ areas, The graphics were indeed just horrible (ex: swarmers and the guts/ green effects and random disappearance...not even a slow ooze-away.) This game was horribly rushed and just a updated, yet still lacking mass effect 2. I even stated some glitches and more examples and am asking the creators to update and expand immediately. This is not something I'm okay with at all, especially for paying $80...how inconsiderate to the fans and gamers. I don't care if they plan on expanding and adding with DLC, if we have to pay for those extras, at least give us the basic expectations and wants towards a new and updated finale

First thing is that I paid $80
USD for Mass effect three. In the game, the citadel was probably the
only open-ended and explorable area, this isn't what I had expected from
playing mass effect 1 and from an RPG element. I thought bioware and EA
or whoever would fix that from mass effect 2...

Second: When
equiping allies in combat areas/ modes with burst settings (specifically
the argus three-burst) Allies only fire-off one (1) round...not full
auto, or even the three-burst setting required for the specific rifle/
weapon.

Third: Upon returning to the Huerta <-? hospital
area, facing upon the entry/ beginnging of the area, second-door to the
left with the salarian scientist (longer stretched area)...the mission
completion denotes no pop-up or value of a mission reward. The settings
and instance happens when the salarian turns to face shepard, but the
characters out of place with only open space being viewed and looked at
by the salarian. The words and everything works, but when the time comes
for the mission complete and rewards pop-ups, nothing is seen or
happens.

Fourth: Why is the N7 the ONLY customizable armor and piece(s)?

This
game seems rushed and incomplete/ lacking...are the creators coming out
with patches and updates to expand and fix some of the issues?

I'm
just seriously disappointed as of the moment, had I known it'd be a
updated mass effect (2)...I would've never bought it. Does anyone/
anybody know if the creators are fixing and updating/ expanding any of
these and more in the near future?

Again, don't get me wrong
folks. Great game...but not to the achievement and capability it
should've and could've been/ was expected. Especially when paying $80USD
for such a great game and then ending up disappointed and feeling
lacked. PLEASE TELL ME THE CREATORS WILL EXPAND/ UPDATE/
AND FIX THESE ISSUES AND MORE IF PLAUSIBLE!

With much affection and love, David Solus. <3 you baybeez

another issue: multiplayer and some single player instances...wth is up with the random height change? From ground-level to floating enemies?!

Another issue: Why is my falcon I and Wraith I missing now? Along with a lot of other equipment supplies, etc...as if EVERYTHING WAS RESET ONCE SIGNING UP WITH EA AFTER MY DIGITAL DOWNLOAD AND PLAYINGSOME?! Origin is horrible with issues, if you folks plan on beating Steam, do it right or I'll cry and go waaaaaah

With much ex-affection, yet still some luving for the grooving and still love in general. Meh <3 ******-on, do some justice and make the game right-o! It doesn't take a bunch of game-testers/ beta-testers to get it right...

There's alway room for *better* but hell you think that talking **** to bioware will help them improve? No they'll just ignore you.
All in all the game is great, better then the prevoius 2 (to a point) and yes maybe the ending is not as you expected it hell none expected it to be this way but that doesnt mean the game sucks just because of one element does it? Dont tell me after all the hard decisions you had to take on the journey you expected to have an happy ending. If you want an happy ending go hollywood movies.

Dude, forget the ending(s). I don't care about that. That's the storyline as it is, whatever. The rest I stated on, they need to fix and expand on those.

Some people have fun with it some dont.

My only problem atm is the sound glitches. especially when your playing and the sound just bugs out and becomes terrible static.
