So yes, I've vented a little about the ending to ME3, I'll accept that I was and still am a little upset about the way things have worked out. But at the same time, maybe we're all being a little bit insensitive about this, or at least I'm feeling that way.
Sure, it's like they just dropped some kid's favourite puppy into a blender and flicked the switch, but at the same time Mass Effect and everything involved with it is one of the best things to happen to gaming.
So yeah, if this get's out of a hand at any point, I'd just like to say Bioware rocks and they should be proud of all of the years of hard work they put into everything.
Good job well done!
P.s. Bring Shephard back.
All things aside...Poor poor Bioware.

"Sure you dropped my puppy in a blender, but I guess I should forgive you because you gave me the puppy to begin with."
I just want my puppy back

Unless the endings are completely taken out of the game and redone I don't think there is anything they can do to win me back, they killed off the franchise in a grand total of 5 minutes and it destroyed any amount of joy I got from the first two games.

Sure! The game is awesome though it could end when Shepard is hit by that beam and we just watch burning kittens and puppies in blenders instead of ending. Would be the same effect. About 5% of community would find it "okay".

I'd just like to know my puppy is in puppy heaven. I mean it was in a movie wasn't it?

Let's not make this about the ending being sad. Personally I have no problem with a "dark" ending. Bioware needs to know that it's not just a few of us who wants some type of Disney style ending. This is about the fact that right now the endings:
- make no sense
- makes every decision you took in ME1-3 meaningless
- leaves all the questions completely unanswered.
There's plenty of ways to write a dark ending where billions die, where Shepard sacrifices himself, and still have it be good. What we got.... it's just crappy writing.

I know I know. To be honest I'd like some serious closure to every unanswered question too. The reason I keep dwelling on Shepherd not being alive though is I remember thinking to myself when he was walking around London giving his farewells to everyone "God, Bioware better not kill him off!" and from that point onwards I was dreading the ending to the game, holding out that it wouldn't be so predictable. But alas, that's exactly what happened.
So you're right, my main convern isn't the fact that he dies, but rather that everything just doesn't mesh right.
If he was meant to die, I would have been very happy if they saw his progeny continue on his legacy in the new world. And yes, they would be blue.

You can mess up a lot of things and it will still be alright. You cannot mess up the end. More thought should've been put into them.

I do feel bad for the backlash and how sever and hateful it got. Bioware devs do not deserve it nor do the community guys on the forums. Only two people deserve to take the heat - but they are well entrenched...
