I was looking forward to them continueing the series in book form post ME3... but that is impossible now.
Any books the would write would just not feel like mass effect, as they destroyed everything that was synonymous with that universe.
And more prequels would not appeal to me, as I already know everything in them would be pointless: It all gets destroyed anyway so why care?

I wonder how long it will take Bioware and EA to figure out how much money they could have made off of the merch.
