1. Get rid of the normandy crash, and give us an epilogue that shows us the results of 100+ of gaming. No matter how contrived the final choice was, this would have made me happy, and given me closure.
2. Leave the endings as is for the "you didn't do near enough" ending
3. Leave the endings but save the mass relays for the you did just barely enough to save galactic civ,
4. add two more ending if your para/rene scores are high enough, and you did enough to make a difference that allows you to convince the catalyst it is wrong. No matter how hard you make this, many people will go out of their way to get this result.
My shep doesn't have to live, but I have to know that my shep's sacrifice, and those of everyone else was actually worth something. But also, it allows one to actually deliver what was promised 5 years ago, that every choice had an impact. As is, nothing you do really has an impact on the ending.
In some cases the whole deus ex machina routine might make sence, in other games, but in mass effect it just seems out of place and contrived, even crass. Give us a way out of the catalysts plans.
