[WARNING: MASSIVE ENDGAME SPOILERS!]
At the end of Deus Ex Human Revolution, one of the endings let you choose rampant cybernetic upgrading. The ending cutscene is a baby still unborn inside a womb, but already part machine. This is sort of like the ending in ME3, where the crew is part machine and part organic. Anyone else thought this at the after they finished the game?
Also, why were we not allowed to choose? The kid said I had 3 choices, but in the end Shep jumped and I got none.
What if I wanted to wipe out synthetics or not merge with them? Why does an RPG not let me make a final decision?
Ending like Deus Ex HR?

Yes, the ending is very much like Deus Ex HR and this has been brought up once or twice. The difference being the ending in Deus Ex: HR really fit the theme of the story, it didn't have huge plot chasms, and was reasonably well written.

The ending is nothing like Deux Ex. Deux Ex had 4 endings, while they all were how to deal with the situation, the differences were very large, and the writing was amazing. Also, it really suited the theme of the games, and regardless of the ending you picked, they were all well done and none of them felt weak.

Yeah thats the main difference. In DX I could choose what I wanted to do. I kept waiting for the decisition to pop up at the end of ME3. First when I talked to the kid, then after I talked to the kid, then when I walked up to the ledge, then when I jumped off, then when I got vaporized, then when the thing fired... and then I was disappointed.

*Spoilers for both games*
That's Deus Ex:Human Revolution, while you can draw similarities to that game as well, I think the similarities between the endings are much harder to deny when looking at the original Deus Ex compared to ME3, both of which had three choices. Other than the differences in scope and level of technology achieved at the time of making the deicision, they are basically the same.
1) Merge with an advanced AI, bring humanity to the next step
2) Destroy the AI and all technology with it, setting mankind back many years, but still intact, scarred but intact- very similar to the destruction of the citadel, synthetic existence and the mass relays
3) Side with the Illuminati and subversively shape the way the future unfolds with your power, very similar to taking control of the reapers and using them for your own
