Posted this in a Kelly Chambers ME3 thread, but figured it was worth posting here, too.
In Mass Effect 2, I noticed that at some point during the loyalty missions, Kelly and Joker both stop giving feedback on the missions, probably about 3 or 4 into them. They just revert to their default conversation starts. Is this a bug or did I randomly do the only few missions they actually remark upon?)

As far as I'm aware it's best to speak to them immediately after a mission. However, it does depend on what you consider a 'mission' to be in this context. Side missions they never comment on. Joker's comments seem to be restricted to recruitment, loyalty missions, and story missions. Kelly seems to comment on recruitment and missions affecting Shepard directly; I don't think she comments on much else.

I meant recruitment and loyalty missions. They had something to say about *every* recruitment mission, and that was the case with the first few loyalty missions, but after them, they didn't react at all. I didn't notice it two years ago when I played the game, but picked up on it this go-around. It seemed like a bug, and figured I would raise it here.

It doesn't sound like a bug. With recruitment Joker will comment on the new squad member; and Kelly would give a report on their psychological profile. I don't recall Joker commenting on all the loyalty missions, though Samara's does come to mind. Pretty sure Kelly doesn't comment on many, if any, loyalty missions.
