I'm curious. Was he at Redcliffe with his father? I doubt their merchant caravan marched with the army to Denerim. If they did, how the hell did he get up there, bloodied with plenty of darkspawn surrounding him?

I don't think a merchant caravan of 2 small, non-combatant dwarves could get past the denerim gates, market, alienage, palace, then Fort Drakon.



i think Bioware got lazy with this. Maybe they just put him there to tell everyone that...



"okay, this is the last stage. sell all the stuff you found inside Fort Drakon then buy all the healing potions you need. oh and btw, theres a expert silverite runes here that you can use against the darkspawn."



but then again, maybe theres a frigging story to tell here about Sandals awesomeness.

The truth is, Sandal was there on a mission of his own, completely seperate from the Blight. His evil. prissier counterpart, Liquid Sandal, had taken control of the facility, and was threatening to launch Lyrium missiles. Thus, he was forced to sneak in using only a cardboard box and pack of cigarettes concealed in his stomach.



All of this is happening behind the scenes while you're out battling the Blight. What you see in the game is actually the aftermath of the two Sandals' climactic battle.

How did you know where to find him is a better question. He was just having a good time, and then you come and kill all the darkspawn.

some ancient rumours say that sandal is actually an enchanted sandal. but because of this, he can teleport anywhere and become a god amongst men

Sandal = Dwarf commoner rogue grey warden that Duncan had earlier put through the ritual, but he was one of the Wardens whom had been helping scout out at Ostagar his group got ambushed by some darkspawn and he fell into a ravine, he was rescued by his step dad (forgot his name) and poor Sandal had lost all sense of speaking apart from being able to only say a few words, one of which of course was...

Anyway by the time it came to the final battle he had suddenly remembered his uber warden darkspawn killing skills and decided to aid the party by scouting out ahead of the players party. The only thing is, the player didn't understand that when he was saying "Enchantment" then what he really meant was "You guys go back, I can take care of things now, this is my duty to do it.".



His epilogue story is that he went back to Orzammar with his Step-dad and went into the Deep Roads to help the Legion of the Dead advance the dwarven lines and scare the Darkspawn, course this is the main reason why the Darkspawn ended up above surface in their groups because they were too darn scared to go back down into the Deep Roads for fear of being turned into silverite runes by the ultimate enchanter Sandal

Sandal was working on folding a teleportation-without-error spell into a rod, but because this was dragon age and not dnd, it failed and teleported sandal in error to Fort Drakon... It's so obvious...

He killed all the Darkspawn with his Retard Rage skill. You will see this skill mentioned in many movies such as Something About Mary when you touched his ears. Clearly, it was part of the story and not just an afterthought to help players unload inventory before the final battle.
