 Hi Guys,

just wanted to post this here... not overly angry as I'm sure this will get sorted and MP was always a secondary thing for me but me and 2 friends just tried jumping on the MP together and one friend who is in the US wasnt able to join our game due to 'different versions' I've logged this issue with EA's game helper site and tried to get t his pushed up through official channels to be patched but also wanted to put it here to see if anyone else has had the same issues.

I've had this issue with other games, something to do with the servers being incompatible. I'm not sure if those issues were ever sorted out in those games, but I do hope they sort them out here. There's no good reason for it to not be supported.

Yeah there are slowly more and more topics about this. Yesterday it seemed like I was the only one with this issue.

Apparenlty US and Asia can play together, its just EU left out.. Which would be weird. The demo was fine, hence this is so awkward.

I had this issue in the Demo...They never commented on it then either. leads me to believe it's intended.

Weird you had it in the demo. I was able to play as EU with US without an issue there and now I'm plagued with this. Rather frustrating.

i got a response from EA support who suggested that I delete my update data and re-install it. I've done that but it had no effect unfortunately.

Yeah, they told me the exact same thing. Another suggestion was to turn the console off and on again. Or try joining through a public match. Public and private had the same message. Bit disappointing.

yep tried all of the things you've said milereb and got no working solution. bit of a shame but I dont mind waiting a few days for a fix of this, MP was never the big draw for ME3 for me

Yeah, I keep getting the same error when connecting to US friends (I'm from EU myself)

I'm having the same problem. I'm from Australia and I tried to invite a friend from US and it said we're not playing the same version. Had no problem with the demo....

This does not seem to be exclusive to different regions. I also get this error for virtually every multiplayer invite:

"You cannot join your Friend's game because you are not using the same version of the game. Please download the latest  and try again."

I was auto-prompted to install the latest patch, which of course I did. Seems like the issue of joining up with friends is getting worse. Ruins an evening of play with friends.

What was the patch today supposed to fix?

Every time I try to connect I get logged out of the EA servers and it wants to reconnect me, pick my character, then I get the error message.

For some reason, it seems that those with disc-based versions of the game are not getting the 1.02 patch.

There isn't a 1.02 patch listed on this website's patch list...

1.02 doesnt exist to my knowledge. even if it did exist, the case we are having would be with 3 disc based versions of the game.

The digital version has a 1.02 patch, making people that were in the same region incapable of playing together as well.

My problem has all been disc-based though.

Ok but we that have the disc-based do not have 1.02 we have 1.01
I have 1.01 and my friend has 1.02 and I can play we he but my friend that has 1.01
I can not play we he

Heard from EA customer service that psn is at fault for not distributing the patch worldwide. They told me the patch was coming, but don't know exactly when. I'm calling psn customer service and at least registering a complaint and I urge you to do the same to speed up the process.

It sounds like patch 1.02 has been made available to disc-based PS3 users. Please give a shout if you're still unable to download it.
