I just finished my playthrough of Mass Effect 3 last night after 22 hours played and there are just some things that I just don't understand why/who thought they were a good idea. I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

For me, the most annoying feature was the idiotic security checkpoint on the CIC deck of the Nomandy. I bet I spent over and hour just running through that thing because I liked to check out the information on the war assets after I got them. It just didn't make sense that I was forced to wait for it to scan my body EVERY TIME when the Citadel had scanners that I could just walk through at my own pace.

A close second would be trying to revive my friends in multiplayer game and then ending up against a wall, who knows how many times they've bled out or that I've been killed because of it.

If possible, please refrain from the issue of the endings being a dissappointment, there's a whole bunch of threads on that already. And I apologize if there's already a thread on this topic, I just didn't find one through the search.

That god damn check point in the ship. Granted I know its a loading screen like in the first game but dear god.

Also it seems the game gives you less choices overall compared to the first two or maybe just me.

The ending. Or lack thereof of a decent one.

The fact that when I'm trying to heal buddies or take cover, I miraculously end up charging headfirst into a mob of husks. I've also noticed that the matchmaking is horrible; I ended up on completely different maps facing completely different enemies than the ones I chose. Oh, and the fact that no one seems to realize that the Atlas has a weak point (hint: it's the exhaust port on the back.)

The one thing I'm annoyed at, isn't a feature persay, but rather how the armor looks in the game. The metallic coating they have really throws it off. My custom color combinations don't look anywhere near as appealing to me as they did in ME 2. If I could think of another, it's that damn Reaper chase thing. Why I can't I search for assets in peace?! DX

For single player, the most annoying thing is the journal not updating if you have picked up an item or not for a quest. At a close second, the security checkpoint ont the Normandy. I don't understand the purpose of it. Is it supposed to load the other half of the CIC or is it just there for decoration?

Single player there's still issues with the AI of squad mates big time. I beat the game on insanity there were occassions they wouldn't climb ladders, get stuck in a locked room, lost the ability to open doors, or decided to stay in a corner some where.

Multiplayer wise I just didn't like the lack of custimaztion on your character. Sure you had color and pattern options but the lack of phyiscal customization, especially facial featuers, armor, etc, was rather disapointing.

Other then that I liked it. Multiplayer reminded me of Dead Space 2, except actually being good.

Singleplayer - 1) The journal. It's a massive step back from ME2, as you can't track your progress through a quest, which makes it hard to figure out which ones you're about to finish.
2) The galaxy map not showing sidequests aside from the ones that include combat and a few cutscenes.
3) The inability to check war assets from anywhere but the war room console - I'd have settled for just an effective strength meter on the private terminals with a little blurb for the most recently acquired assets.
4) The horrible fuel system used for the Normandy. Seriously, we only get 1000 fuel? Tons of systems in the clusters are so far from the mass relays that it eats up half your fuel just to get to a system. And considering the Reaper evasion mini-game, it makes exploration a needless pain in the butt.

1.) The romances for the majority of the ME2 cast seemed incomplete and poorly executed and was a huge let down. ( It was as if Bioware was trying to shove Liara and Ash down your throat. )

2.) Although I liked the control ending. I think they all could have been written better.

Weird.
I have zero lag (unless I press Start right before the next wave begins). My issue with multiplayer is that I always lose connection to the EA server if I decide to play solo with my engineer; but it's normally fine while playing with others.

Surprisingly, I can't really think of any feature that annoys me currently. The scanning perhaps a bit, but it's not that bad.

Bugs aren't features, so I should not mention them here. But I'll do it anyway. The worst thing about ME3 right now is the MP relock bug. Once that's fixed though, I'll be a happy Shepard.

The biggest annoyance for me was the damn "paint the target" Reaper fight.  Seriously, I must have died 30 times before I finally managed to get all the way through.  The laser is really unpredictable, and if it so much as grazes you, you die, and have to start the whole fight from the beginning.  The way to do it is to strafe in one direction, then roll the opposite way at the last second, before the beam can adjust.  But even once I figured that out, it was frustrating.

1. The journal is not helpful at all.
2. Team mates still like to sit back and do a whole lot of nothing except die.
3. Can't forget the "endings"... or a lack thereof for a decent one.

Multiplayer -
1. "Communicating..... You have lost connection to the room" o.O didn't know I even had connection to begin with.
2. The dodge-roll. Clearly, I am pressing "W", why am I rolling sideways, out of cover... off a ledge?
3. Yes..yes.. wave 9 of Silver... we're gonna make it..almost done..! ..."You have lost connection" FML!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I did was roll twice to the opposite side the beam was firing. Had no problems. You also don't need to do it at the last second either. Do it as soon as the beam ignites, it won't follow you or anything.

Like to add the fuel in the navigation section seemed more of a burden then anything. Possibly if it didn't burn it all so fast.

Disk swapping, prob only a serious issue for myself as my xbox is reaching the end of it's life where it only likes to read disks 10% of the time so this is freaking killing me.
The journal is a terrible mess, not knowing whats going to 'time out' if i continue with story missions is a pain forcing me to do every side quest I can before continuing.

Well right now I hate all these bugs and glitches, but I'm sure that is the least of my problems of what I hear.

Single player: The graphical glitches in cutscenes. Sometimes someone's body will be facing a random direction but their head will be turned the right way. There are also a lot of clipping issues, and sometimes the camera will clip through an object or character. Sometimes a character will be invisible. Sometimes the camera has a person mostly off-frame.

Multiplayer: Lag (and no way to view ping).
No text chat.
Revive player is the same key as entering cover. (Major pain in the ass. People keep getting killed from this.)

Sad part is judging by some of the descriptions, they had an original ending story idea how the Reapers were actually created through the threat of Dark Energy spreading so one of the options was to destroy the reapers or let the species of the galaxy decide on finding a different way to harness Dark Energy without succumbing to change.

It's sad they ditched this plot and went for the more pragmatic and contradicting alternative being to wipe out the galaxy of synthetic life.

In terms of annoyance, nothing really sticks out that strikes out at me the most. Screen going red as soon as you shield drops is a little bothersome but tolerable. Haven't really found anything though that I'd ask to be changed gameplay wise that caused me so much pain. AI is aggressive but in the end still predictable.

Obligatory "the ending!" answer aside, I think it has to be the journal. I kept having to go back to the Citadel just to see if I had or had not completed a quest, because it gave absolutely no information about that.

Well, besides the horrible endings, I'd say it would be the numerous bugs I've ran into that prevent me from completing or initiating a few of the Hub Missions.

The "one button does all" feature is the worst IMHO. By the Goddess, I hate that "mechanic". Please BW give PC players at least the option to remap.
