Grissom Academy quest: loading screen freeze bug

Why MS should require a so high price just to upload a file on Xbox Live? Companies even publish demos for games that will not likely sell many copies. if the "upload" price would be so high they would not release a demo in such circumstances. Just my thought.
By the way I'm sure we'll get an update soon.

Tim Schafer said that they have to pay even more but I believe he was referring to all game consoles combined, not only Xbox.D.Shepard wrote...
I suppose the greatest cost is determined by the action required to find the bug cause and fix it. Once they did they already "spent that money". So I suppose BW would release the fix as soon as it becomes available.

EDIT: for DLCs, Valve has stop updating Team Fortress 2 on the Xbox because it was way too expensive, that is why only the PC version gets so many updates.

Of course they will release a global patch, have you any idea how much it costs for them to release a patch over Xbox Live? Thousands of dollars, they can't publish an ad'hoc patch every week for every bug they fix. Beside this, being pissed is more that understandable but that doesn't mean that we can be rude to the developers in this forum because usually, 90% of videogame developers do not even reply in their own forums to their customers/fans, they do not speak to the community, they do not say if they know about a bug, if they are working on it and if a patch will be release and when. While here Bioware's rep has already replied to us many times, they have acknowledge the problem, they have explain what probably is the problem (a race condition) and they said they are working on it, what else do you want them to tell you? Something like "Yes, today we have changed line 1044 to 1126 in loadingcontent.cpp, the problem is the resource loading function Load(); that does this and that".. Really who cares about what they do, I want them to fix the bug not to teach me how to program in C++.
Hi for all, I too have the same problem, however it would not hurt after correcting the problem, tell us what was wrong, and even how they solved:)

I know that releasing a patch in xbox live is expansive, still this is not my problem, was expansive the game too, and i paid for something that shuould work just fine. So why should i think about how much could it cost to bioware publish a patch, and why Bioware should not think about how much made me pay for the game that don't work?
I want to be honest, the only reason that make me keep the game and that i love Mass Effect universe, i love the characters and the gameplay, and since i have a collector my only options are a Ps3 normal version (that suks even more), or a PC version but may reseller told me i can't change xbox collector version with a normal PC version. So what can i do? I pay for the game, i've the right to play it, i will keep faulty xbox version and simply download it "someware" and play on my PC since i cant play the version i paid for.

That's the spirit, people just say "go to store and get your money back if you don't like the situation". That is ONE of my RIGHTS, i have the RIGHT to play what i've bought IN FIRST PLACE.

I appreciate the responses from BioWare but i hope that suggesting to skip the mission since is not part of the critical path is not going to be a lame excuse for delaying the patch,as many people said i paid the full price and i want to play the full game,it's my 1st playthrough and i'm not gonna skip anything.
In the meantime i'll just wait for the patch and play only the multiplayer which is fun,i'm still annoyed though and i guess i'll never pre-order a BW's game again, being a day 1 gamer is just a hassle nowadays.

I hope they will too,but i don't think that's gonna happen soon, not a matter of a few days anyway. Even if it affects tens of thousands of italian customers i guess they will just make us wait for a month or so,releasing a bigger patch. i hope they prove me wrong of course, right now i just don't feel like continuing the campaign.

Mah..

Thanks for your support BW. I just hope you figure out who's responsible for this, cause we've got problems playing but you got tremendous damge too from this whole bug thing. In my opinion this is another proof that something isn't working as it should in the Italian market. I hope in the near future we'll learn to play with english dubs so we wouldn't need to depend on peoples who take their jobs so lightly. Keep up with your good work and let us have the heads of the peoples responsible for this
I totally agree with you. This is THE problem in my humble opinion...
Everyone is angry, I can relate. But here in Italy (oh, ma guarda che strano....) someone made a really big mess...
EA? Third party company wich has done the translation process? Who knows...
My bad, just the one time I decided to go with italian D1 copy.... ^__^

i'm using the "you" but i address not to you specifically, but to everyone who did similar speech (here and in other forums)Nero Ad Inferos wrote...
So here we come with the translation in english: I'm really really pissed off ^^ bye
You have all rights to be pissed off; we all are "pissed off"
btw, there is a difference between shouting and ranting and be patient and polite
Ryan is not a developer, but he's keeping contact with us; he told us something about the bug, maybe also more than is allowed to say and he still can't do anything to speed up the bug fixing.
But he's doing a BIG thing: keeping the post alive, keeping us informed as soon as possible, and also feel us "not abandoned"
Blizzard never answered to my tickets and i was paying 15 € per month for a game i already paid 70+ € (basic + one expansion); this was one of the reason i abandoned WoW (and i refuesd to buy starcraft, diablo3 and like). Most companies never reply to users until announcement of "a new patch who will resolve bug 1, 2 and 714; for other bugs, wait for next release".
Bioware is talking us, and we all know they are still reading this post (and this is not something you can give for granted).
But if you are really really really pissed off, you can do one of those things:
- go to the retailer and send back the game; i don't remember exactly but i'm pretty sure you have one week to be refunded. IF retailer did'nt refund you, then you can shout and also call the Guardia di Finanza (it's your right)
- stopped buying bioware games. This one, is the most powerful weapong we got. Even bigger then Prothean's one:P.
I choose the second one: based on the outcoming of this issue i will decide if i'll trust Bioware enough to start playing SW:tOR or refuse giving them my money. But i'm not shouting, nor ranting, 'cause i know this will not made patch coming out in advance, will not give me some compensation for buying the game at day one, and sure will not give me the ability to play the game without problem.
Shouting will work only vs who ignore the problem and/or (even worse) try to convince you are the one responsible (italian translate: quelli che fanno finta che il problema non esista e cercano di convincerti di essere in torto... non so come tradurlo
And in italy there are A LOT of retailer who "does deaf ear" (for instance: the ones who did'nt take back faulted LCD, or the ones who says "warranty is only one month/week") and nobody says anything
Bioware, au contraire, already acknowledged the problem, they told us "it's ok we got a problem now we're fixing" and people are shouting at them...
now, please: stop using this post show how much we are pissed off; they already know. we all need to leave the post for Bioware to inform us about fix development, and for us to inform Bioware if we discover a solution and/or hardware/software combo where Grissom Academy is playable.
For pissed off post, and their discussion, let's start another topic...

As I said in the post you quoted, 90% of game developers do not even reply to bug reports in their own forum, Bioware's rep did, so saying that they are not thinking at our problem is not true, they even told us that the problem is a "race condition" and that they are now examining a crash dump, what more do you want them to do to prove you that they care and are working on it? A photo of a programmer scratching his head would not help us or them at this point.pheanor75 wrote...

This bug it's just the biggest, and the most annoying one. But in general the game experience is crippled by hundreds of bugs and technical flaws all along the game. Too bad. ME3 could have been a different and better experience. The one we were all expecting. Probably couldìve been one of the best game ever.
Instead, from my point of view, the ME saga ends in the worse way.
Dear Bioware and EA: this is a matter of passion, focus on quality and details and respect of all the people who throw a bunch a money to buy the game.
The feeling of a hasty relase of an undone product is very, very strong.
