Ohi :(

btw, I don't think that post was referred to you, Maverick was actually defending you..I think.

You're right. I was defending Ryan...

Sorry about that! I speak Italian a little bit, and I was confused. I'll stick to English in the future (and thanks for the defence).  :)

I'm not italian and I obviously do not have this issue, but I think it's absolutely amazing how Ryan is so active in this thread, keeping you all up to date. Not to mention how much he seems to work on identifying and correcting the issue itself =) It's unfortunate this had to happen of course, but Ryan's your man! Appreciate him and name your firstborns after him! =D

*just wanted to spread some love*

Ryan today i called EA, the operator told me that he has news about this fix almost every hour and that the ETA is matter of days, what's going on?

Well, that's... interesting. I'm not sure what information he has, but it's likely more out of date than mine.  ;)

Hey, don't misunderstand me, i called EA because i was curious to hear what THEY have to say about this mess, as i always said i think that Bioware + EA isn't a good marriage and i have always my devil on the shoulder that thinks that EA do thigs lightly, even Ryan probably thinks that dragon age origins was made in order to guarantee to a player a wide horizon of choices, even from the beginning, that's not ragon age 2 philosophy, now, i understand that this is not the right topic, i said only that it's strange that first i'm staring in awe in fronto of a game and then complaining because a game of the same SH can't load a secondary mission that expires few missions later, and has also other bugs as well.

Anyway Ryan i wait for your updates like everyone else, just report that we're mocked even by square enix fans, this should touch the souls of development team, so please, give me the bug fixed with a lot of bonuses to shut their mouths pleeeeeeeeeeaseeee!!!!!!!

Sorry for the lack of replies. I've been away from my desk all day, chasing down more information on this issue. Here's what we know so far:

The "race condition" seems like it wasn't the true issue; it was masking the true issue. We believe that we have identified what is causing the issue and we are moving forward with three priorities:
1) Investigating to make sure that Grissom Academy is the only level affected by this (we are pretty sure that it is, but we want to be positive)
2) Investigating a fix. This should be fairly easy once we have the results of 1).
3) Investigating how to get this fix out to you. Depending upon the results of 1) and 2) there may be different methods that we have to use. For instance, we're only able to issue a patch for very specific kinds of fixes. We may have a downloadable option, but it might not qualify as a "patch".

So our programming teams and QA teams are quite busy right now, and we hope to have good news for you within the next couple of days -- certainly by early next week. In the meantime we're working with all our external partners to determine how we can get a fix out to you as soon as possible.

Thanks again for your patience. I'm sorry the news wasn't better, but we're much closer now!

It's nice to hear about your progress. it gives us hope.
Just a question: the downloadable option will de facto function like a patch or an update?
I mean we play the game and we see a message telling us to download the update or is something different?

Thanks for the info, Ryan. We'll await your next update.

You're right. I was defending Ryan. I feel sick of all that rude people that think for 60 € they have the power, and are in right, of attack working people like Ryan that not only do their work trying to go out of this situation, but also take time to answer to us all. Other houses will have acknoledged the bug, maybe write "We're working on", and after 2-3 month we will had a patch. Without updates. In the black screen thread developers don't know nothing about the issue and say small or nothing. Here, in this thread we have continue updates about the state of the art. It's simply wrong be rude. No excuse.

i don't give a change to fac-simile updates with a person full of doubts.
i would prefer who tell us: we don't know how this's happen; we don't know when we could fix that; you must wait with the hope who don't pass months.

al least, they would be honest

Yes, it would work very much like that -- you'd might see a prompt telling you to get an update, but if that isn't possible (for whatever reason) we would let you know via the forums (in this thread) how to get the fix.

I just wanted to specify that it might not technically be a patch -- it might just function like one.

Just beware Ryan... in Italy the wrong king of fame goes directly to "L'Isola dei famosi" (our horrible version of the reality show "Survivor")

Whoa! Wasn't that a Mussolini's quote? LOL

Anyway I appreciate ryan's work, this i care to stress. I understand he's just a working guy who found the weight of this whole stuff pending on his shoulder. I know he's not responsible for that and he's just trying to do what he can to solve the consequences of someone else's mistakes. I know what it feels like, we all know. Probaly he's more angry than we are and hear him on that...he's doing his best and i thank him. What i'm disappointed of is the clear lack of attention we are rewarded with by corporations who ask us to pay almost a hundered bucks for a product and then dont even bother to give their fans and supporters a decent quality control. Just this.
