Obviously with control of the Reapers shepard can police the galaxy, that is if they are even capable of creating sythentic life.. but what if in another million years.. Shepard questions the futility of it all, and the cycle just begins again?
Something to think about.
What if Shepard starts thinking like the previous Guardian (Control)

Made me laugh, but saying ex-Shepard is the 'catalyst' is saying its canon, and thats something BW does not want!

No matter the ending the Reapers/AI/Geth will vanish somehow and be part of myth. In ME4/5/6 after thousand of years the galaxy will be network again and you will be sent to investigate some rogue civilisation trying to construct AI. But you will be too late and Skynet will be born.
The ending of ME4 is that you fight to save innocent civilians while Skynet begin it's full destruction of the -insert name here- and run away from the planet.
In ME5 you will warn everyone that Skynet is comming but nobody will listen so you so you will try to stop them with a commando team.
In ME6 you will need to ally every Organics againts the synthethics/VI/AI because Skynet as assumed control of every technology. You will then have to create a new Generation of Reapers to survive putting billions of life into Reapers to allow your species to survive and destroy every synthetics and guard the next 50 000 to harvest new sentient life before they do the same that you just did.
//repeat ME1/2/3 and so on

I chose destroy because of the Geth, and not for the reasons you think.
The Geth and the Quarians had made peace, even after everything that happend. This gave me hope that if the Geth and Qurians could have Peace, that Synthetics and Orgaincs could live in Peace. I couldn't let me or the Catalyst change that, with me being in control of the Reapers.
So I destoyed them and EDI. One of the Hardest Decisons I had to make, The Geth and EDI will me missed, but I have faith Oraganics and Synthetics will make peace and their Sacrifice will not be in vain.
