From what I've read, you have 3 chances prior to this to talk to him with a paragon option. You need to take all 3 of those opportunities.

i had the same issue... considering the lack of reputation checks, i noticed when they came up... and i did all the paragon options

In all his previous conversations with him you needed to pick a Paragon/Renegade option. I don't think it matters if they're all the same or not, just as long as you take one (I'm pretty sure they don't need to be the same, I remember picking the Renegade options in most of the previous conversations but I was able to pick Paragon at the end)

the hell? I mean I picked a paragon option every time I spoke with him, and still, the very last option is not available. But, that doesn't change the endings, does it?

YEah I did that and I was not able to pick either the Paragon or Renegade option. I pretty much ALWAYS picked renegade on every conversation with everyone because I was on my renegade.  Apparently you must need your reputation/renegade meter maxed out to get that final option.

Same issue here, but he shoots himself or I shoot him in renegade interrupt it makes no diff to me. Same with Udina...I shoot him or Ash does either way he gets shot.

The first paragon option you need to pick in dialog with TIM is easy to miss on Mars.

Well, it doesn't change the fact that endings SUCK. Hope they'll get a dlc or something to make a decent one.

I remember that whenever I confront him, I always choose paragon option but at the end I still cannot choose the last paragon option.

It is because my reputation is not 100% ?

I was wondering if you have to have pure 100% renegade or paragon. I had my reputation bar filled like 7 hours before that (with a ton of surplus) and couldn't do the last check.

I did so with renegade. Probably in New Game with an ME3 save it is possible.

If you get TIM to shoot himself, does it count as you using the final paragon option? Also adding to the OP, how do you "save" Anderson? Because I always see him get shot when TIM raises his fist.

I heard someone said even with 100% paragon he still cannot chose paragon option.

Probably it just another bug

I was able to choose BOTH paragon and renegade as my last option, despite being more renegade, and having chosen renegade speech up until that point.

Hmm did you save the collector base? That might have somethng to do with it? I know I've heard/been told that one decision in ME2 is the only decision in the entire game that actually means anything at the ending (and I do kinda see that is to a large extent true)

I refuse to believe its story related because if it was it wouldn't let you even see those options. Since you can see the options but they are blacked out that would lead to the game thinking that you don't have the rep to select those options just like ever other mass effect game. It has to be a bug.

I had trouble with this as well. I got master and commander, had a trilogy import shep, full paragon, pretty sure full rep (I didn't take the +rep mastery ability, I went with +damage) but pretty damn sure I still had full rep.

I was able to make every paragon decision in the game except for the last one talking to TIM. Not that it changes the game any, or the ending. I don't know if it's a bug, or if you have to always select the "more info" while talking to TIM and selecting every P/R option in all your convos with him as someone has suggested.

Either way, I'm not too upset, but I would like to hear more on this, and whether or not it's a bug.

I think you need at least 4000 EMS to make it work.

Is indeed dumb, but does appear to be why so many aren't getting the option.

I was a Paragade and was successful, however, I chose all renegade choices in the final conversation and was given a critical failure on the first try. Second try I chose all paragon and it worked, "saved" Anderson for the final chat and everything was fine. The Critical Failure was still odd and I can only assume that I wasn't Renegade enough. Both Paragon and Renegade options were available so I assume I must have passed the persuasion checks previously to even have them available in the last conversation. Not sure if this helps any or if I was hit with a different bug.

Actually, come to think of it, I probably missed the renegade interrupt the first time (wasn't expecting there to be one so wasn't paying attention). Anyway, you do not need to be 100% paragon for the option to show up.
