Was considering buying it for the 360 due to my graph card not being top notch. Untill i read 360 didnt have the nce tactical view. Then the choice was obvious, either it would run on my pc as is, or id have to buy a new graph card. Fortunately it runs ok with the graph card.

dragon age runs amazingly well on my 4-yr old PC with a single core processor, 2 gig of ram, and an nvidia 7800 gtx video card.

I bought the 360 version because i assumed my PC had outlived its gaming usefulness. Then i re-read the min specs of DA and immediately bought the PC version. All my textures/graphics are on medium, but i don't mind, graphics do not make a game for me. And honestly, DA runs better on my PC than many "older" games. I do have the memory leak issue, but i don't mind reloading the game every few hours, it forces me to get up and walk around.

Am I weird for thinking the Console version is >>>>> to the PC? Sure the PC looks a lot better(like a LOT better on max), and my comp runs it fine, but I really don't like the controls(maybe it's cause I'm using a laptop, but I doubt it) much and I think the camera is way better on the console..

I don't care much for the tactical, and maybe the only thing that to me the PC is better over the console, is the interface.. I quite like the inventory 'customization'..

Overall, basically I think I'm glad I paid 10bucks more for the console version... even if it means getting late patches and a buggy game(apparently not as buggy as the PC though.. like I don't lose my Blood Dragon Armor in Dwarven Noble etc).

And some of the areas are nerfed. For instance the third part of "the gauntlet" (no spoilers so I kept it vague)

So, the console version has inferior graphics, no mod support, is buggy and has late patches, some areas and puzzles are nerfed, and on top of this all it costs more money.  Supposedly the console versions have better camera controls, despite the fact that a mouse is about as intuitive as it gets for people who use computers all the time.

Add all that up and you think the console version is better?  Are you weird for thinking that?  No, no one can tell you what to think.  I just don't understand how they do math where you come from.

Actually, as far as graphics go, I'm not a graphics ****. So Inferior graphics don't bother me. I'm not a fan of mods either, so no mod support doesn't bother me at all either.. like I mentioned, the console actually has less bugs, and doesn't crash, so late patches are only fixing annoying things late, not game breaking. I've got no idea about puzzles being nerfed so I can't comment on that, and I'm fine with paying more money for a better camera control. 10bucks is cheaper than a good mouse(Razer costs like what, 59.90).

Playing Dragon Age on a laptop? Unless you have a beastly laptop I don't see how you coupld be playing the PC version to it's full potential. I just bought a GTX 260 and downloaded the HD Textures among other mods and the game looks amazing.

I don't know, my laptop is over 2years old, but it seems to run fine with 8x Antialias, very high detail and very high (can't remember last graphic option).

I agree, mouse and keyboard were never meant to be gaming devices, I would prefer gamepads any day of the week, especially for rpgs, fps and strategy games.

Some people here are relentless. It's as if their opinion really matters. To dodge a burning at the stake, it helps not to post "seeking approval" threads. Just nod your head and agree, and everyone is happy.

I play on the 360 because my computer is almost 10 years old (windows 2000 service package 2) and as of this moment can't afford a new computer.

I prefer the console version personally - there's something to be said for enjoying the game from the comfort of the couch. I won't argue that the pros for PC gaming aren't valid, just none of them apply or matter to me in this particular case.

In the end, it's whatever suits you best, isn't it? Play your games the way you enjoy them, not based on popular opinion.

As a WoW refugee let me just say...:(

To the OP...glad to read your input. Was considering the console version for my Xbox playing son.

You know, I have played a number of games that were both the PC and XBox 360. Fallout 3, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Oblivion, and the like and for the most part I really do prefer the XBox 360 versions of these games.

The PC elitism on this topic (& forum overall) is idiotic. Gaming is more than PCs, get up and smell the coffee.

Thanks. And imo, it's quite hard for us console gamers to adjust to PC games(since everything in the console can be done without moving the wrists at all).

Agreed. Oblivion was better on xbox too, imo.

You will usually get less tech bugs, on consoles, that is true. Mostly due to the fact that there is one and only one hardware configuration to take into account. But I'll gladly(or well, I get irritated sometimes on the bugs) play the pc version simply due to the fact that it has mod support, superior graphics and well.. I dont own a console. Dont see a reason to get one.

I just want to say something.

That yes some games go better on a Console, Halo for example, or Grand Theft Auto. But some are better on PC. Like Fable, Mass Effect (but not Jade Empire), and Oblivion and F3.

Anyone who says Oblivion and Fallout 3 are better on console than PC need to have their gaming rights taken away from them.
Both of those games have horrendously game breaking bugs that STILL exist even after "final" patching; both have horrible interfaces for the console, and both have terrrible graphics that no where near push the console to what its capable of; the PC versions are automatically superior for the modding capability for this because of the massive projects in the community to fix the various problems and bugs with the games.

I havent played the console version of Dragon Age (which isnt like me because I love Bioware so much I usually buy every copy of their games I can get my hands on lol) so I cant say if its better on PC or console or not.
But being a bit of a modder myself, I find myself preferring the PC version for that reason alone.

The OP loving the console version of this game is great. It bodes well for when I buy it myself. :)

The only reason why Halo works better on the console then the PC is because Halo series are sub par FPS compared to the FPS on the PC.

I dont particularily like FPSs. Mostly cos I think they over complicate themselves in what is generally a simple generic cookie cutter world/plot by trying too hard, and taking themselves too seriously.

Halo I thought was was a good fun game that nicely combined a decent plot, with simplicity and a smidgen of comedy to it. It wasnt made as a really "serious" game it was made to be enjoyed for what it was.

Which I liked. The same with Dragon Age. Theres been arguements on this forum on wether it qualifies as an RPG or not.

I dont think it particularily matters. Its a good fun game. At least on PC. I cant speak for the console version as yet.

Well those arguments basically come down to one point.  That Dragon Age is not a sandbox game, therefore it is not an RPG.  This argument forgets that the grandfather of RPGs, Table top RPGs, were not sandbox, but rather they were module base with an adventure to complete.  Dragon Age is closer to the Table Top RPGs then the sandbox games are.
