I bought the game today, I have the receipt right next to me ffs, but the online pass refuses to registers. Why is my brand new online pass "not valid"?

Ditto, collectors edition and redeemed my codes on xbox.com, just spent half an hour talking to a support guy on chat on the ea site who was insisting that I could try and get it from the xbox marketplace (yet it's an in-game purchase) or that I should contact the retailer (about a code that they did not issue?!). Just after that the chat session was terminated on their end so I'd quite like an answer to this too. If the chat log wasn't so long I'd post it for people to see.

I called the EA Support. I had to wait in line for 15 minutes but I did get help. The guy I spoke with just wanted me to send a picture of my receipt with the date visible, the game and with a written time stamp attached. A few minutes later he mailed me a new code.
